  1. hi, in our pinning ceremony dec 08, we did the following:- - we all provided photos taken during our time in nursing, made a slide show..and we all voted for the song to go all with it. - we voted our outstanding faculty member...and bought a gife and flowered for him.(one student presented the gift)( -we voted most outstanding sutdent and did the same.(one faculty member presented gift) -we choose another student to give a speech, regarding Flo.nightgale, and nursing. -one faculty member whom we choose, gave speech..and us as a class...we had her as an instructor for two semesters. -One student sang a song.... _last but not least ofcourse we lit were pinned, lit our lamps and said our nursing vow.. Best of luck hope this help, there are many other things you as a class can do, but also the faculty member incharge of the ceremony should be able to help you better. rence01
  2. hold on to you faith, and dont give up...there is always light at the end of a tunnel, but you got to subdue the darkness inside the tunnel. i have you in prayers...i passed NCLEX on my 2nd trial en it wasnt easy.. keep studying and block any negative vibe. rence01:idea:
  3. i was in the same boat with you, before my first attempt,i told all my family, friends and part of the congregation to remember me in prays, but guess what it was such an embarassment when i failed and everything was asking whether i made it. i learnt my lesson and as i prepared to redo it, i shut my mouth, nobody kne when i was retaking it and on 2nd attempt this March i passed.......i totally agree with you on that..
  4. wow!, your story is one of a kind. am glad you did not give up on your dream, as not many would hold on that long. These was the chosen time for you to start your practice, may you safe guide your long-awaited license with all you go through safe practice. God bless Rence,RN
  5. hi, i did my test on tuesday, found out today i passed. i only had 2 SATA out of the 78 questions, so i dont believe SATA determines the outcome. gudluck studying
  6. hi, i also had to retake nclex and just found out today i passed. On my opion i feel both are important. i used hurst review, listened to the video and concentrated most on my weak areas. while i was doing the contents, i was also doing questions from kaplan and nclex 3500. to pass nclex i believe, you got to understand the contents. gudluck studying
  7. hi, i would suggest you do according to how much you can understand. its not the many questions you do in a day that matters its the much information you can retain. i personally i would do 200 a day, but i would break them down in 50s, that way i would understand more. gudluck in your studying.
  8. hang in there, think positive ,it will easy your waiting time.
  9. congrats!!!!!!! wish all the best in your practice.
  10. a wise man once said...... "the only thing that is standing between you and your dream is YOU"..... if you really want something bad, nothing will stand on your way regardless of how big, tough,or demanding it may be, so if you really want it...GO FOR IT... others have made it, why not you? best wishes
  11. my rule in nursing school was...once am done with a test there nothing more i could do about it-whether i passed or failed...so i would focus on the next test and go for the best i could get. do not let the test you failed pull you down but rather pull up your socks. yes NCLEX questions helps alot..i used saunders and lippincott books, another book that can help you is "medsurg made easy-straight As"-they helped me alot..but before you do the questions i would suggest you study your med-surg notes first. best of luck:idea:
  12. its sad to hear nursing students treating each other so mean and so cruel... am not gonna tell you your class is the first because its not, unfortuantely your class is not the first one and neither shall it be the last one. we were all created differently and we all think, act and behave differently. but one thing is for sure... nursing school is one place that "no man is an island" you all need the help of each other to make through the five semesters.... my advice do not concentrate on those negative things going around you, but rather focus on your studies...hopely it will be better along the way. gudluck:idea:
  13. you make a good decision, just to encourage you -all shall be WELL. i got married last august, planned my wedding (over 300 guests) during my third and fourth semester with the help of my family and friends, and it was a huge success. we went for our honeymoon during my two weeks break from school and then i was back for my last semester. i graduated on december. so keep your focus, do not let anything stress you....remember you got to keep your balance both school and marriage are very important to your future.... best wishes:yeah:
