  1. Hi Anna, I used to be a RN in Germany and worked on a unit with many cancer patients, but never worked in hospice before. I applied straight after I became a CNA to hospice, because they just had the best all around package on what I wanted. Of course there are gonna be times that are very hard when one of your patients dies, but usually the team you work with is very supportive and share the same feelings you have. We have good meetings as a team where we can talk about our feelings and how to deal with them. Beate
  2. Congrats to you and thank you so much for sharing your story and giving me and others hope.:yelclap:
  3. Hi, I've been working for Tidewell Hospice for over a year here in Florida. I am currently a CNA. I really like my job, but I must also say it's not for everyone. The question you should ask yourself is, have you had any experience with someone dying close to you that you cared for? How are you dealing with death in general? The work you will be doing is very special and very rewarding, but it's also the most critical time in life for a family and patient. It is our job to do anything we can to help the patient and the family get through this tough time.If you have any questions....write me. wish you all the best.
  4. Congrats to you.:yelclap:
  5. started nursing school when I was 17, finished when I was 20, worked two and a half years, moved over here started out as cna a year ago and hopefully with now 27 finish this summer to be a RN over here.
  6. No 10L Oxygen and nebulizer treatments don't help if you still go out to smoke and have COPD. Feel like knockin them on the forehead and asking if anybody is home when that happens.
  7. This is my 3rd time around as well and it's really hard for me to still believe in myself.....but I just got the book to start suzannes plan. And I just gotta make it it this time.Starting all over from scratch.....evenough I know I did better in some areas I feel like this time I gotta have it right and the only way is to do it all over.My last test was end of January....my question would be I don't know if I just give myself some more time this time around and schedule my test once I did go through the whole book ,or should I go ahead and do it now?thanks for all the support I find on here, that really helps. Beate
  8. I'm from Germany living in Florida and just sat for the NCLEX last week.I have a nursing diploma(3years),10 years of regular school(considered highschool i guess..)and 2 years of experience(from german hospital)which they didn't want papers from.Had to do the evaluation through CGFNS and the TOEFL. But every state is different.Good Luck with everything:D
  9. I just became a new member and also found out today that I failed the Nclex-RN the second time and feel the same way you do:cry:.I try to keep my head up and know by the third time I gotta pass it.I did the Hurst review online, Saunders and Lippencott book.I think I will sign up for the Kaplan review class now. And Susan's plan seems to work with many others so I'm gonna do that one too. And also found a website from Sylvia Rayfield does anybody know if that review?or took it?Any feedback is very much appreciated. Stay positive...we will pass it next time =)
