i am starting my career in a foreign country ( JUBAIL, Kingdom of SA) in a tertiary hospital accredited by JCI.... however, some things in their system i am in doubt. one is the GCS. we are using GCS to patient under sedation, relaxant and on mechanical ventilator. patient who has cervical spine fracture; quadraplegic. and the result will always be GCS 3 (E1V1M1) to the first and GCS 10 (E4V5M1) for the later patient who is conscious and very coherent. i did my search over the net, consulted my funda of nursing and it does not make sense. i opened this to our head nurse and unit supervisor, i also use this "GCS 3; E1V1M1" during endorsement, but what i had is mockery from them.

from my own experience, i waited a year to have my current job. patience is a virtue.

@cathy, sad to say, i had the same experience these past few months after passing the local board in 2007, but till my father "activated" his "connection". this was the least thing on my options, however, finding job as a nurse here really sucks. i am proud though, that i won an employment contract overseas, ON MY OWN.

haay... the two words again... "decision making". on saturday i will be meeting with their HR. maybe after i can make up my mind.

but what if the other oppurtunity is for saudi. i had my papers processed by agency, and the targeted month for me to live is june or july. if iam going to accept the local employment soon i will be living, but atleast i will have a recent refresher exposure as a staff nurse. however, if i would not accept it, my last exposure to the hospital setting was 8 months ago as a nurse trainee, i wouldnt have problems with the local hospital, esp. with their contract if any, and with retrieving from them my orig crdentials. am weighing...

pls. anyone here knows what/how is the working environment in st. claire's hospital for staff nurses? i have a job offer there, but am hesitant to go for this one or still wait for other big hospitals i applied at.

Hi eosinophil, everyone! I'm sched to take the psychometric exam on may 5. For those who already passed got through the final interview, how long did you wait 'till the last step of the hiring process?

@dulex, i started september last year, but was sched to take the exam in jan. And all things followed, till now, i am waiting... @nurseboy, sir could you pls. Explain further, so where foreign country can we apply without experience (as in Zero?), and just having IELTS only?

Hello. Can someone confirm this: I heard that the training schedule for the 6 mons. training would be 8 hrs. but, only has 1 shifting schedule which would start from 8 am to 4 pm. And mondays to fridays only??? If this is true, then in case i would be in i still have time to do a part time job as an call center agent.

how bout those people who by not their fault inherited bad genes, having not good set of teeth and sorts... can she\he be qualified?

Hello! I am for final interview, the 4th interview, however from sched in march it was always moved month to month. I called miss mhadz today, and now i am sched on May but it is not final again,haaay... for the 3rd time. Anyone experiencing this too?
