I'm on a short break at work but the first thing to think about is slander. It's illegal for an old employer to call a new employer and you know that this is going on and are accepting of it. Basically aiding and abetting slandering. Alright I gotta go but I will try to type more this weekend and post links regarding employees and the laws that protect them. You could end up, if this employee found out they were not accepted because of slander against them, facing a civil suit. Good luck to you.

Well I guess if one can sleep at night knowing they have been involved in shady dealings then more power to them. Some of us still have ethics and know that what goes around comes around. I'm grateful that I'm one of those people.

79 Tango since you are aware of this practice happening and you have done nothing to stop it, if a lawsuit were to ever be brought up you too would be liable. It is illegal.

What makes me worried is that my friend who took in on the 27th had her results within 22 hours.....we are going on almost 48 hours. (2pm Tuesday I took it)....I am definetely paying for the quick results at 2pm...if they are available and I hope they are!

Because I have a job lined up....if I didn't pass I will be devastated. So I sit here worried that if June 2nd testers are already issued then I must be out:crying2:

The thing is they can be the same. My friend sat for her exam on May 27th at 8 am and on the State board her issue date is also May 27th. This is what has me very, very worried.....

Thank you for letting me know...I am here in Maine...the date my friend was issued was May 27th and then there were no issues again until June 1st (the day I took the exam) however there are issues for June 2nd...it makes me a little worried that the PVT is not correct in my case or my classmates:uhoh3:

A couple of my classmates and I took the exam on June 1st. We went home and all got the good pop up through PVT. We have been eagerly awaiting to see our names on our BON state website. A good friend of ours who took the exam on May 27th had her results within 24 hours on our BON website. We however have not. Not one of us. When we check to see when the last license was issued it says June 2nd but does this mean they sat for the exam on the 2nd? To everyone who has licenses is your issue date the SAME day you took your exam? Please let me know?? Pearson vue still won't let me register I have checked 100 times and get the same pop up that says contact your member board ect...please let me know!!

I have to agree that I would stay and get the experience...there is hardly any jobs here never mind new grad jobs....it's only 6 months...and then you would have experience and could find work much easier..just my two cents:twocents:

I'm right there with you and yes I live in New England where you can't even get a job at a facility that has no DON and a criminal record:banghead: Never mind a nice reputable hospital....I feel your frustration and too have wondered why did I go to school for all of this? To have a degree with no job? It really bites.

My school actually has decent health care coverage that you can purchase through them. Thats what I did and it was 337 for the year. I have used it twice, once for a trip to the ER and once to get a prescription filled. No cost for ER visit and prescription was $12.00....its much cheaper then even enrolling in my husbands plan which would be an extra $70.00 per week to add me.

Yikes....I was just trying to vent not start world war 3.... How sad for me?? I can't think of a single student in my class who is happy to be there....maybe we do go to a tough, ****** school but we know in the end that we will be nurses because our school has a 100% nclex rate..... Also I stand by my statement.....other programs at my school can actually do things with their life like play soccer at lunch.....our students....ALL the nursing students....are studying, running after the teacher to challenge a question...fretting over whether we are going to get a 75 this past test.... Anyway sorry for venting...thanks for everyone who understood and I will promise not to bring up any situations like this again.:spbox:

Today while at clinical.......a CNA comes up to me and is smiling and telling me how excited she is to start nursing school in the fall....ect....and she starts to ask me what do you recommend I do to get ready for the fall.... and out of nowhere I respond... Go into any other program:eek: I don't even know where this came from. But I have to say that being in nursing school has sucked. I mean it really really has sucked. I hate missing out on my kids dance classes because I am in clincial. I hate not seeing my husband because I have to study, write care plans, drive to and from school, ect... I hate not being able to find the time to walk on the beach like I used to. Or nap. Or even pee without feeling like I could be doing something more productive. Thanks for listening to me vent.....I am so glad I only have 5 more months.....*wine

Only in nursing school you will see that 95% of students are either on anti anxiety, anti depressants medications. The other 5% are drinking heavily. Also only in nursing school....... can the school be closed for a snow day...but you are required to show up! 5 more months to go.....I don't think I could take much more...

Don't worry about your spelling...I know plenty of nurses and doctors who can't spell...who comes onto a forum to point out someone who has spelling errors??

I agree.....it's mostly just very very time consuming....and that in itself makes it hard. With three small children and a job and house and a husband the time I have is already very scarce...The one thing I am probably looking forward to the most is when I don't have all the time consuming "busy work" to do each week......

I'm not quite sure where all the nursing students go who have time on the weekend to drink, smoke or do anything else:chuckle besides study? I wish sometimes I had enough time to shave my legs..:chuckle

As we are told in our classes.....unless you work in maternity/ pediatrics you are practicing geriatrics....most hospital admits today are an aging population.... if you are young and fairly healthy then the insurance agencies want you in and out...chances are pretty good that you will encounter post mortem care unless you work as a CNA in labor and delivery.....and it's really only going to get worse...the baby boomers are going to be coming more and more into the healthcare needs society.....and we may end up not having enough nurses to care for this aging population...but I digress.....you should think about what really bothers you about post mortem care..maybe even volunteer through a hospice agency so you can see what the whole process is...

I am here to offer you some first hand experience....I started this fall in the nursing program and was 26 weeks pregnant at the time, with two other children and a full time job. I was scheduled to have a c section on November 24th and was back at clnical on December 1st...was it nuts??? YES! Is it doable? Absolutely!! I had an awesome instructor and a HUGE support system at home, those two things are what made it possible for me to continue on...in fact our grades were posted this week and I got an A- for the semester...am I exhausted??? Yes, but I tell myself that I only have three more semesters to go before I am an RN, it's only 18 more months, and I will have the summer off. My plan is to work on the weekends in the summer so I can be home with all three kids during the week, to go to the beach ect....Nursing school, while it may seem like the days drag, really flies by! I wouldn't take a year off because that's another whole year that you have to wait to be an RN...also you get out of "nursing school mode"....studying, projects, careplans, clinical prep work ect.....I would do it! Well....I have some advice for you since I just had my third baby via c-section on the 24th and returned to clincial this past week...one week after the surgery!! Your house will not be clean. It took me all of this semester to realize that and I still have a hard time accepting it, thank GOD that next week starts winter break and I will finally be able to clean the house like I really really want to. If you have a supportive husband, use him! My husband does tubbies every night and goes over homework with our 2nd grader, dinner has become a thing of the past, we mostly eat quick prep meals like mac n cheese, fruit salads, or burgers and pizza.....the older kids are at an age where they understand that mom is in the nursing program and it is really really important that mom becomes a nurse so they support my studying (most of the time)....I went down to part time work although I think in your post it states you won't have to worry about working during nursing school...which is a good thing! Every weekend we plan something fun for the family to do even if it means just an hour visiting the library, and then lunch at a local restuarant. Family is still the most important thing in my life but nursing school is only 18 more months for me!!! You can do it! If I can do it with a two week old a kindergartener and a 2nd grader...you can!
