hi I'm hoping somebody can answer my question. I'm currently working now in SNF as RN supervisor , for nearly 5yrs. i want to get hired in the hospital but i tried a lot of times but I'm not even had a chance for an interview. when i checked their requirements ,most of them aRE with at least 1 yr acute care experience. but how like me can get that experience if nobody is giving us a chance, so I'm planning to get certifications like acls, ekg,may be could help but still not ,so this time I'm planning to take med surge certification , but one of the eligibility requirements is the hrs in med surg. working in snf consider med surg hours? by the way I'm from california.thanks

i try to check online the verify license. it says there Expiration date 11/30/2016 ,does it mean it was renewed i just didnt receive my license card yet?

can i do on online to renew again. i just dont want to have a lapse on my lecense. am i able to see if they receive my mail or not thanks

my license will be expired by nov 30, i mailed my renewal like 3 weeks ago, I'm not sure if they received it ,they haven't cash out my check , i just realize i should mailed it with return receipt .. my question is should i worry now that they haven't receive it that i need to mailed another renewal , or should i wait more.?

I dunno if it's right but be because we have new don it seems like she changed everything , she told me I need to undergo orientation if I will be supervisor and because I don't accept it yet she let me orient for not even an hour because I was on the floor atthe same time and yesterday she just put me as supervisor because we're short of nurses and i overwhelmed and it told her I'm not comfortable yet, she said you will be overcome it . Good thing I don't do admissions (honestly I dunno how to do it yet) but I used my whole shift for a it of orders. It's just upset me because we know it's hard to find jobs today. But I'm looking around now for a new job, i dont know

I'm rn for 3 yrs here and working for Snf for 2 yrs . My daily routine is passing meds , chart, etc and my asst don encouraging me to try to become supervisor I'm not sure if I can do it and I'm scared. Yesterday my don talk to me and she ask me how many years ie even working? And she told me I should train to be supervisor because its been a while that im rn and she left then she comes back after then she want me to see her on Monday for what? I don't know yet. I'm not sure if I'm ready . I don't know I'm the youngest there and there's a lot of rn's ahead of me. And this might be dumb question in terms of salary if I became a suervisor is my salary would increase automatic or should I ask.any opinion?

I'm working at ltc there is a pending case against our company , I had deposition yesterday were like 10 one on one depo who provide care to the pt what will I expect after that if the plaintiff didn't accept the settlement , is my license in line . ?

is this a violation nurse practitioner called due to lab works bec the family is asking her, knowing the nurse practitioner , and after that she asked for the face sheet to fax to her . thanks

yah they told me that they need more experience, yes i will take that , its really hard bec. of different setting. i hope i pick up easily and adjust easily, im really nervous tomorrow is the start of orientation. thanks:lol2:

i dont know what it really means, i got first interview today and because of hiring freeze i accept the offer , they really need an experience nurse but because im a new grad RN no experience and have no idea about SNF because i graduated from the philippines. they offered me for the meantime on call, and i have 2 days orientation, 3wks training. offered 28/hr. what should i expect and need to do some help please. and they sent me to physical exam. and background check am i really hired? and after the training they will see what happen next.

i think it took 1 week. go here for the form http://rn.ca.gov/applicants/lic-address.shtml ,and i faxed it (916) 574-7697, and i wrote in the upper left Attention: ? i forgot the name . when i called at the BON they told me to put Attention bec. there is a certain person updating ssn. i advice to call the BON. for sure.

i'm done on that after i passed my nclex rn exam, i think i post it here. btw what i did was i made a letter including my ssn, and i print out form change name and photocopy of my marriage cert. and i fax it all.hope it helps or if your confused you can call BON

yes as i know ,for the protection of the hospital, unlike in the PH you can volunteer and do nursing stuff and eventually became RN staff. that is what i read in some post.im still looking for a job too. have a lic. last sept and had paid exp.in the OR for a year , but thats enough.hu hu .I believe that there is a reason for everything goodluck

what i heard if you volunteered here, you are not allowed to do the nursing stuff.

i have IV training in the Phil. to be expired till 2011, i dont know if it is consider here.

we are on the same boat graduated in the Phil. 2006 got US RN lic. sept. still waiting, and applying , just pray ,we can do it.
