How Many Practice Questions Did You Do?
I totally agree with you. I was told that if you were in OK to poor standing for testing, to do about 5000-7500 questions before the NCLEX. The first time I took the NCLEX, I probably did around 4000 questions and I failed at 75. The second time I took the NCLEX I did about 5000 questions and I failed at 137. The third time I followed Suzanne's plan, learned how to understand the question whether I got it right or wrong, learned how to choose the best answer even if I don't fully know all that is asking. I probably did around 3000-4000 questions and I passed at 75! The number of questions is not as important and FULLY understanding what is being asked and KNOWING what to do as the nurse. Good luck!

How many of you have 75 questions passed or failed?
I have passed at 75 and failed at 75! I recently passed and felt confident that I did pass when it shut off at 75. The first time I took it, I knew it wasn't my time because my nerves got in the way!

who used, who plans to use, and are using - suzanne's plan.
I followed Suzanne's plan after I failed twice on the NCLEX-RN. It worked for me because it gave me structure and focus. It is a very doable plan and I just found out I passed on Saturday! I highly recommend it.

Yay! I PASSED the NCLEX-RN!!!
Thank you everyone! This site helped me get through everything! Have a wondeful holiday!

Yay! I PASSED the NCLEX-RN!!!
I FINALLY can say that I PASSED the NCLEX-RN (on the third try!). :monkeydance: I took my test on 12/21 and found out today through Quick Results. I stopped at 75 questions. I had a TON of priority, select all that apply, etc. Suzanne's plan worked! Suzanne, if you read this, THANK YOU! Your plan helped me focus and gave me the self-confidence. It really is about 60% knowledge and 40% faith and self confidence! This time was different because I shunned ALL negative thoughts and actually believed that I could do this! Thank you for all the support over the last 7 months! You guys ROCK! I am SOOOOOO EXCITED! This is going to be an AWESOME Christmas! :monkeydance: :monkeydance: :monkeydance:

Anyone use Mosby's Online CAT?
Just curious to know if anyone bought Mosby's online CAT. I bought it the other day and anxious to use it. I have been using Saunder's and doing pretty well with that. I wanted to use something before the NCLEX to give me an idea on how I will do (this will be my 3rd time, argh!). IS it a good review? Is it pretty accurate on how you will do?
-
Getting ready for the 3rd time ugghh
Good luck! Keep ONLY positive thoughts. You WILL pass! 3rd time is a charm...I'll be taking it for the 3rd time in a few weeks! :pumpiron:

Louisiana Nclex limited to 4 times in 4 years
PA is unlimited. I am about to take it for the 3rd time in November. I'm following Suzanne's plan and KNOW I will pass this time!

I failed NCLEX again!!!!
I'm sorry! If it makes you feel any better, you're not alone. I ALSO just found out that I FAILED for the 2nd time! Unbelievable! The first time, I failed at 75, this time I failed at 137. I don't know what I did wrong. I am not joking when I tell you that from the first time I took my NCLEX (june 2006) until now, I have done over 8500 questions. I exhausted my books. I thought I knew it. I did well in school, awesome in clinical. I'm stunned but I'm over it. At this point, I am mad and determined to beat this test. That's all it is, beating the test! I have started Suzanne's 6 week plan and will follow it exactly and pass on November 15! You will pass! (I always thought a 3rd time is a charm!)

Glory To God!! I Passedddddddddd!!
Congrats! :biggringi That's wonderful news! I hope I will be as happy as you soon! :monkeydance:

Argh!!! I can't take this anymore!!!
I can't take the waiting anymore! It seems worse the second time around! I keep checking the BON site and no update (although it only updates once a day at 7AM Monday-Friday). They don't do Quick Results, so that option is out. I called yesterday and today and they tell me that no license has been issued "yet." I don't know what to think! I got the same answers a few months back when I failed the first time! So now I am at the point where I am assuming the worst and hoping for the best! (I am horrible and already filled out a re-application (i had an extra from the 1st time) and bid on Saunder's Comp review on Ebay!). The first time I took the NCLEX-RN I failed at 75 and this time it cutoff around 135-145. It was way harder and lots of delagation, triage, teaching, 2 math). Any experience with the PA board of nursing and the time it takes to notify with results? I have heard that MOST people hear within 2 days on the BON site. Others have waited more than 2 days. Argh! Any advice to calm me down?!

Just took NCLEX-RN this morning
Good luck!! We're in the same boat. I took the NCLEX-RN on the 19th and no word yet. It was my second time taking it. The first time was bad and cutoff at 75. This time it cutoff around 135-145 (don't remember). I know I got the last few correct but who knows! The waiting is terrible and just not fair! PA doesn't particpate in quick results, ugh!!!
-
waiting is going to drive me insane..
Good luck!!! Tell me about it...I took the NCLEX-RN on the 19th and no word yet...To be continued!
-
Took NCLEX a week ago, still no license!!
Congrats on passing! I have a question for you...you said you were checking the BON site and calling, etc. When you called, what did they say? I am in a similar situation. I took my boards on Tuesday 9/19 and am starting to give up hope. Many people I know have heard within 2 days. Does this mean I failed? I called and they said that nothing has been issued as of "yet." You think they are lying and not wanting to tell my I failed? I am getting sick over this!

NCLEX Results
I would love to know how that is possible! PA doesn't participate in Quick Results and usually have to wait 48 hours up to 30 days for the BON site to update with your name. How did she get her results?! I took mine yesterday and am dreading the whole wait time!
-
It's been only 24 hours since I took the NCLEX...
And no results! I know that I can't find out until at least 48 hours after but I am driving myself crazy! PA doesn't participate in quick results so I have to wait as little as 2 days or as many as 30! This was the second time I took my exam. The first time it cutoff at 75. I knew in the back of my mind I failed (had a lot of things going on then). So I studied all summer and took it yesterday. I felt prepared but more nervous about the "test" itself. I took my time and felt it was WAY harder than my first test. I know I messed a few questions up but I just hope I answered "enough" questions right! I don't even know when it cutoff because I was paying more attention to the question. I think it cutoff somewhere between 138-144ish. Who knows! I keep reading past posts and it makes me soooo incredibly nervous. I keep thinking what if I failed a 2nd time...how do I explain that one! But then I don't want to jinx myself and try to believe that I may have done OK since I thought it was harder content. While it was harder content, I still had NO clue on a few questions! Gosh I hate this! I hate waiting and it's seems worse the second time around!!!!

The last thing I expected to see tonight..!!
Congrats! You give me hope! I took the NCLEX today (2nd time too) and am going crazy over it! The first time it cut off at 75. I knew I did not pass...I had too many things on my plate at that time. Today I took it and when I got to 76, I breathed a sigh of relief because I knew the test did not give up on me. Now I am going back and forth in my head hoping that I did ok. I don't even know what number it cut off at! I was trying not to pay attention. I think it cutoff somewhere around 138-144. Who knows! I just pray that it was "enough!"

Quick Results not in Cali Why
I know what you mean! PA does not participate either! I took mine today (2nd time) and the suspense will have the best of me!

Length of time to get NCLEX results/License Issued...???
I took my NCLEX on June 12 in Mobile, AL. I applied to the PA board of Nursing and wanted to know the length of time it takes to get a license issued/nclex results.
-
NCLEX results??
I took my NCLEX on Monday (6/12) and I still haven't seen my name on their site. I am getting nervous! I ended up calling on Wednesday and trying to find out about a change of address (seeing if they would look up my name and they did) and they told me that they still haven't recieved my results yet. They said it could take anywhere from 2 days to 30 days. So far it has been 5 days, and nothing on their site. Is this normal? Do they update the BON site on the weekend? Are they just saying that and don't want to tell me I failed over the phone?! My test shut off at 75 questions. I took my test in Mobile, AL (went to school in FL and applied to the PA board of nursing). I can't take anymore waiting! I want to know NOW!! :angryfire

I need help- Evidence Based Nursing Intervention/Practice
Hello! My name is Mary Karen and I am a nursing student. I have to prepare a paper discussing a nursing intervention or practice that has changed due to the influence of evidence-based research findings. It can be from nursing, medicine, or any of the allied professions. Plus it has to be related to Adult nursing. I am at a loss right now. I can't think of any. I wanted to know if any of you wonderful nurses would be able to help me out?! Thanks in advance! :)

Interested in OR nursing
Hi! I am new to this board and have been lurking for some time. I am a nursing student at an accelerated 11 month BSN program. Since I just began, I am interested in all fields of nursing, especially perioperative nursing. I am interested in knowing all aspects of this field, good and bad. Is it imperative to take a perioperative course or do some hospitals train you on the spot? How is the pay compared to other fields of nursing? After school, I plan on moving to FL and was wondering if pay is any better or worse in this state. I am from Philadelphia, where there are great incentive packages for nurses. I would appreciate any feedback! Thank you!
