Is Kaplan overrated?
I couldn't agree with you more. I, too, was one of those nclex takers who took Kaplan and didn't pass. I spent $500 on the classes and online resorces. It's a good thing I got my money back, for not passing the first time. I was wondering, why is it that Kaplan doesn't have a book out of just test questions/answers? All the other companies has q&a books, but not Kaplan. They just have a strategy book with 1 comp test (written) and a CD with 1 comp test. If you want more questions, you need to buy it online...$300+. I admit, their questions are similar to nclex questions, but why pay sooo much for them????

Failed the NCLEX-RN exam the third time
Don't feel bad...I also failed 3 times. Retaking again (#4) in Sept. I've used Kaplan, but it didn't work out for me. I'm trying a new tecnique. I'm reviwing Saunder's Comprehensive Review Book, all the systems, subjects, everything. Everyone in these forums has mentioned about Suzanne's plan. They said her plan has a high success rate. I'm planning on trying it. Never give up hope. I know we both can do it.

fail nclex retake in august 2008
I, too, failed using Kaplan in June 2008. I paid almost $500 for their classes and online qbank. I even bought their book (Test taking strats). I also was focusing on their methods, instead of reviewing content. All that money wasted. After reading allnurses.com forums, I've been directed to read and review Saunder's Comprehensive Review Book, then follow Suzanne's Plan. I'm actually studying Saunder's right now. I'm finding it more helpful than Kaplan.
