  1. That's probably the reason I was hired as well!! I have plenty of vent experience from being an RRT, I know the hospital, and know the computer system, so I would consider myself a shoe-in for a new grad position. I'm am looking forward to learning in critical care units as a RN!!
  2. Great news, I was notified today that got the job as ICU float!! Thank you all for your advice!!
  3. @pinknblue82: Yes, if I cant get into my ICU, I'd settle for Tele float, we don't have a step down unit!!
  4. @Trilldayz,SN: I've been a Registered Respiratory Therapist for 12 years now! I'm part of the Code/Trauma/Rapid Responce Team. I'd say I have pretty good critical care experience/exposure. I'm trying to be patient, but it's the ICU that I love, not med/surg float pool!!
  5. Is it unheard of to have new grads go directly into critical care? I'm in Connecticut and most of the hospitals stress "NO new grads will be hired in ICU"! Why has this changed? I know plenty of nurses that went straight to ICU upon graduation and are some of the best nurses.
  6. Did you do Quick Results? Does it work on Sunday? I took mine Friday (6/29) and would live to get my results!
  7. BIG time!!
  8. That's awesome NurseCrystalRN!! I'm glad you got right back in and tackled that beast! BTW, my name is Crystal, I too will be Nurse Crystal RN. I just tested yesterday!!
  9. Thanks Tashy!!! In that case, I don't want one!! Lol!
  10. Does Pearson Vue send you a breakdown of your exam to see how many or which questions you answered incorrectly. I was wondering of they sent something similar to Kaplan's end of test analyzation!!
  11. Rebecca929, did the Pearson Vue Trick work on the weekend? How did you make out?
  12. Same here! I too test on 6/29!! I praying for us ALL!!
  13. Best of luck to all of you soon to be RNs!! Please post if you do PVT!!!
  14. AWESOME!!! Congrats!!!
  15. Wow, 33SATA??? That's awesome that you assed, congrats!!! We're the SATAs fair or tough?
  16. Thanks Pneumo!! It's not this Friday! Thank you so much for the info and Congrats to you RN!!
  17. Greeting to all of my fellow graduate nurses and nurses!! I will be sitting for NCLEX on a Friday at 2pm. Will the PVT work due to the fact that it's the weekend. Will I have to suffer in agony until Tuesday to get my quick results?? Congrats to all of you who conquered the NCLEX successfully!!
  18. Best of luck!!
  19. OMG, were you there on the Monday (7/27)? So was I, that test was a killer. Did you get results back, I sooooo nervous. I'm in the same situation, If I dont pass A&P competancy exam (despite the fact that I got an A at another college), I cant start nursing until Fall 2010. How did you prepare, did you use the guidelines that were givien by St V's? I used that and old A&P notes and still had a hard time with the questions. Id like your and anybody else's feedback on the competancy exam whether taken on Monday or prior!
  20. They offer one at the Waterbury branch, it's called Sociology 2210 Interaction and the Conduct of Social Research. I believe they are offering a summer course, and Storrs offer them as well. What campus are you applying for?
  21. I'm not sure about the preference of UCONN students, but You would have to take the Genetics, Micro, Bio, Anatomy & Physiology I&II, Chemistry and a research course before your file will become complete. I got a B- in Chem, Bio and Micro and they are making me CLEP them because I didn't get a B. Let me know if you have any more questions.
  22. I have to send in my $$, then schedule a meeting with them. All of my non nusrsing courses are done. Apparently 75% of your nursing degree has to be taken @ St. V's. After challanging A&P I and II and Micro, I'll have to take Ethics and Religion. I'll let you know how things turn out!
  23. Thanks for sending me the good luck, milfordmama! I GOT IN!!!!!!!!! YEAH!!!! I was accepted to the Extended Program. Since I already took A&P I,II and Micro, I have to take a challenge exam. Wish me more luck because Iwill need it. Did you get admitted directly or Extended program as well? I'm psyched!!!!:yeah::yeah:
