Have question for a Crozer or Riddle nurse!!
I went to Abington and they still have a great nursing program. Many different options as well. Check out the web site or call for more information. Would be kinda far for you if you live by Crozer though. I really don't know if any other hospital programs around here except in the city. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IV Toradol?
We use it quite a bit on the med-surg floor where I work. Many times for kidney stones/renal colic a lot. Also, for many other things too. I have taken it myself and acutally refused the morphine they wanted to give me instead. It worked extrememly well. Yes, it has GI side effects just like other NSAIDS. A history should be taken just as with the use of other NSAIDS. Also, it is not given where I work for more than 5 days and is usually 15 or 30 mg Q6 hours. I tend to push all IV meds slow and no extra flush is required, according to the information I have looked up before giving it.

suemom2kay, thanks. Apparently, it didn't matter anyway. Thanks for the explanation though. I got my official acceptable letter today:) I started my class the 20th, the format is a bit contusing but I think it will be ok. We have a lot in the class so like Lyv33 said our class is split in two groups. So far so good!!! Paula, she sent me a eval though e-mail. I found a few errors so be careful! It wasn't official so I wasn't too worried. Snowny, I thought I only had a few too. I was surprised I have several more than I thought. I had to take a lot of math. I am a diploma grad so we didn't take a lot of that in nursing school.

Sorry, I am taking STATS at my local community college. I think they offer it on-line too. I am not that good in math so I decided to take it in the classroom. Also, you might try to call them and they might tell you wich ones they are offering in the summer if you can't wait until April.

Snowy--I just don't understand what they are talking about??? Now Maureen Lutterman calls me and tells me there is no problem as long as I have a valid RN license. So as long as you have a current valid licenese you should be fine. Why all the letters and e-mail from admissions???? I don't know but just glad I can still go. I will probably start taking some of the introductory courses in the summer. I need to finish up statistics and then all prereq's are done!! She was very nice and made me feel at ease. I have been crazy with life and it pushed me over the edge, lol. I had a family memeber die yesterday, another family memeber had car accident 2 days ago, i found out today I have gallstones and need a cholecystectomy next week. My nerves are shot!!!!!!!! Well, It couldn't hurt to check. I would talk to Maureen, she is great. When are you starting? Good Luck and keep in touch!!!!!!!!!! It sounds like such a great school, I am so excited! I hope I didn't scare you too much, it sure scred me:eek:

Snowy, I posted to you in the WY forum but here it is. . . I am about to cry. I too got the packet and that awesome e-mail not too long ago. I too was excited and ready to get moving. However, today they are telling me that they don't accept my nursing school. My nursing school is NLNAC accrediated and actually won praise. Well, they said is is not REGIONALLY (whatever that means) accrediated. However, somehow my small community college they accept. I have worked so hard looking at school for so long. I finally found one that I really want to go to and feel comfortable about. I guess it is back to the drawing board. Be careful and check this information. Between transcript being sent and the evaluation fee, I have lost a little over $40 to be told this. I am so upset but wanted to warn you so this doesn't happen to you. Good Luck. Back to research I guess.

Fort Hays???
Hello, I am looking at attending a RN-BSN on-line at Fort Hays University in Hays, Kansas. Was just wondering if anyone had attended the school. If so, can you tell me what you thought of the school. Even if you went there in person, pros and cons, etc. Thanks!!

I have been briefly in touch with them and all my transcripts were sent off a few weeks ago. I have no idea where I stand, not sure if I still need classes before I can begin. I am eager to hear back from them!!! It seemed like one of the best programs I found. Please, share any information you find out, of course, if you don't mind. I look forward to hearing about what you and your husband's take on the program is once you get started. GOOD LUCK!!!! I would appreciate any information. i will go check out that thread in the WY forum, I never thought of that-THANKS SO MUCH!!! BTW-CONGRATS on your upcoming new arrival!:)

On-line RN-BSN Programs in PA
THANKS!!!!

MCP Closing
I was goinmg to attend Drexel but thought the $$ was crazy for the education provided. I work at a hospital in a suburb of Philly and have heard a lot of rumors about MCP. Money is behind everything and unforunately the nurses were the victim.

Housing in Philly
I live in a subburb of Philly. I would take the advice of the others and took at Septa and how you can get to Drexel then research those areas. Great idea. GOOD LUCK!!!!!

Online RN to BSN Programs
Yes, I agree somewhat. I am not sure on-line RN programs are the best thing. However, I put in more much more than 800 clincal hours in my hospital based RN program. I also currently work as a RN and have done so for over 3 years. I do not think that I must do tons of clinical while obtaining my RN-BSN. JMHO.

Online RN to BSN Programs
I have been researching schools for about 6 months. There are so many and they are run different ways. Alabama told me I had to have a state License, I live in PA. I just posted about Wyoming and another school I am looking at is Fort Hays. I have narrowed it down to those, I think. It's hard. Anyone have any more information on these schools or go to them now. Pros and Cons, etc. I would appreciate more help!!!! Lyv33, your comments helped a lot. I just want to make the right decision.

University of Wyoming, advice
I have been researching as many schools that I can that are completely on-line. I may be moving within the next year and the destination is uncertain. So this seems to be the best route. I have narrowed it down to two schools. I know i have seen the University of Wyoming mentioned on this board because that is where I got the idea. Anyone attending or who has attended on here now? I was wondering if you liked the program? What you don't like? Would you recommend the school to others? What would you say to a perspective student. Well, I would appreciate any insight!!! I have taken on-line classes at a local community college but a bit nervous about this. Thanks in advance for any help!!!!!

On-line RN-BSN Programs in PA
Ok, I am about to go insane. I can't figure out what to go to school. I have my RN and want to get my BSN. I have looked into local schools outside Philly but really want to do on-line, at least for the most part. Schedule is crazy and I think it would work best for me. I have taken on-line courses at local community college and liked it. Ok, well I went to the distance learning forum here and read about some places all in different states (so more$$). I sent away for information but for some reason and a bit nervous about them Excelsior and university of Phoenix. Most of the local schools cost a lot of money and not sure I can afford it. Others I have no heard anything about and am a bit leery of the education I would be receiving. Anyone in PA done a RN-BSN program they really liked and would recommend. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
