Has anyone tried to verify with TMC's HR re: the schedule of the next Nurse Training Adaptive Program? I'm seeing some sources here that it'll commence on the 15th.

Sent you a PM earlier about the details. Your application as staff is different with your application to the training. I applied as a staff prior to taking the program but you can also get recommendation from them after the training if you do really well and get a place in the top 10 - they have rankings by the way. Philippine Heart Center's Critical Care Training isn't strict with their 1 year hospital experience requirement. They do accept fresh graduates for as long as they do exceptionally well in the written exam and interview. Their barometer for acceptance in the program is a point based system in every requirement you submit, that includes your college general weighted average, board rating, board certificate, etc. Good luck to you Infomaniac88, I took part in their program last August to October 2009 and it's a good investment when your building your experience as a professional nurse.

Hello red_08! We belong to the same batch, I also received a text from them last weekend asking for my availability for the training. According to Ms. Meg, we will have to undergo medical exam once again prior but there's no date yet on when the training for NSET HOPE Batch 3 will commence. No, I finished the screening process last September. Two days after the final interview, the results were released. The successful applicants were oriented regarding the pre-employment requirements, medical exam and the NTAP. Good luck to you!

I received a text from the HR Department yesterday that the Nurse Training Adaptive Program will push through this November. The exact date was not disclosed yet though for the time being they are waiting for the successful applicants to process the requirements (i.e. pre-employment requirements and medical exam) before the training will commence.

Any news on NSET Hope Batch 3's training schedule? I'm also part of this batch but up to now, still haven't received a text or call from the DCA regarding the training.

Expect BASIC NURSING PROCEDURES in the Skills Validation Interview. Usual procedures are as follows: - Gastric gavage/lavage - Suctioning - Catheterization - Enema - Wound Care - Blood transfusion - Perineal care - Medication Administration - Starting/Discontinuing IV - Bedmaking - Others Good luck on your screening! I was asked to report yesterday for a training orientation and briefing for medical exam. So far, Batch 3 has 36 trainees. All our medical requirements must be completed by the 23rd of November, there's no definite date yet when the NSET Batch 3 will start. @official02: No training fees will be asked from the successful applicants. Actually, a training allowance will be given for the course of 3 months (75-85 days of NSET), around 75% of the salary of a probationary staff. However, this will not be given to us outright, on our 1st year as a staff the 1st half of the total training allowance will be given and the next half upon the completion of the 2 year contract. @invisible: Thanks invisible! True indeed, I felt relieved after passing the intense screenings. There's no assurance yet even when you reach the training part, but you're one step closer to finally securing a job as a staff at SLMC. When I had my final interview, 7 of us came and 5 successfully passed this phase. In the skills validation, 4 out of 12 made it. In the initial exam, out of 30+, around 12-15 made it. The mortality rate varies, but one thing's for sure, if you make it to the very end, you definitely deserve that slot! @*Eosinophil*: I'm not sure that they have a particular grade requirement right now. When I passed mine, that was late July, there was no particular rating/ranking/grade that they are requiring before they accepted my application. The screening selection prior to scheduling of initial examination remains unknown. From what I have observed, they encode their data in a computer before contacting applicants. These includes name of applicant, school, board rating, general weighted average, license number, contact nos., etc. It is plausible that they may base their selection on ratings/grade, however, I don't think they would solely rely on that criteria. I know a couple of successful applicants who had below 80, ratings but it did not affect their application. Try to follow up, I went to the DCA to personally follow-up my application, and right then, I was asked to come the following day for the screening. :) Good luck on your application dear! I'm done with step 3, waiting for my medical exam next week. I may possibly belong to the 3rd batch of NSET trainees, which will start within this month. The screening process has been swift since September, the 2nd batch started last October 21. I took the skills validation last week and had my final interview the week after. You may submit your applications at the 5th floor annex 2 pigeon box HRD, during the time I submitted mine, that was late July, applications were dropped off at the department of clinical advancement. I have this feeling that they really are in need of new nurses since their some of their experienced staff and trainees were already transferred to Global City. Step 1: Initial Exam divided into 3 parts IQ exam composed of 80 items to be answered in 15 mins. (with elimination) Nursing exam around 4 pages to be answered in 15 mins. Really? I also went to the Jobapalooza yesterday and saw three hospitals which didn't really have openings for new registered nurses. St. Lukes Medical Center, Asian Hospital and Southern Luzon Hospital took part in the said event but unfortunately could not offer work for new nurses. Openings available were for: licensed pharmacists, x-ray technicians, physical/occupational therapists, respiratory therapists, etc. Although Asian Hospital is currently on freeze hiring, the lady from the HR told me that for as long that we have completed our requirements, they may schedule us for an exam, etc. The good thing about them is that they're not totally rejecting our applications due just because of their hiring status.

I have a friend who has completed NKTI's training program. Of the 100 trainees, the top 10 will get the chance to be absorbed until further notice.

Yes, I actually went there by myself. I don't usually bring friends along when I apply since it makes me sad when one of us isn't fortunate enough to pass the screening process. Nevertheless, even if you apply with or without your friends along, and if you truly the deserve the position you're applying for - there's no doubt that you'll get hired because of what you can offer for the institution. Regarding the resume, the HR will not require you to submit that and the credentials at the time of computer registration. Once you've been notified for the schedule of exam and successfully passed their screening exam, that's the time when they will ask you to submit your credentials. It may take awhile before they call us, so keep yourself busy. Probably by marketing yourself as a nurse a bit more - do the extra mile. Do volunteer work or if you have spare money, attend other trainings such as ECG, ACLS, PALS, etc. I might do that this coming June under the PHC's HEART Foundation. Have faith, a lot of opportunities are open for us graduate nurses. It may not instantly correlate to hospital experience but there are other ways on how we can develop our knowledge and skills as a nurse. If Plan A isn't available as of the moment, then lets opt for Plan B or C for the mean time. Good luck my colleague!

I went to Medical City last March and did the computer registration. They're still open and continuously hiring since a lot of nurses from TMC has filed resignation, however, a lot of successful applicants who've completed their trainings have not started yet. It may take a while for the HR Department to contact you for the exam schedule but at least you're already done with the registration process. I'll also try Cardinal Santos once I'm done with my case completion for IV - still lacking 1 case for blood transfusion before I could submit them to ANSAP for the IV license. Thanks cathybedrio! :)

Thanks anyway, I was just recently included at Heart Center's list of 1st priority nurses but would have to wait for several months or even a year or so before my training would begin. Now, I'm searching for other hospitals that offers trainings and eventually absorb their trainees. I've done the computer registration at Medical City, I was fortunate to be referred by our dean at St. Luke's but I was told that we would have to wait 'til December - I'm not sure if I would have to apply on my own since my credentials were already submitted by our dean in that institution. I intend to try at Cardinal Santos and VRPMC - Polymedic since these hospitals are also accessible to my home. to cathybedrio: Does QCGH eventually absorb their trainees after they complete the training program?

I did the registration process yesterday at the HR Department. By the way, is there anyone here who did the same procedure and was already scheduled for the exam, interview, etc.? I really hope to be notified soon but the computer registration bothers me since there isn't really much to screen from the data an applicant inputs in their file.
