Anyone passed the 2nd time?
Hello, i myself am a 2nd time test taker. My first attempt i only had 75 quest and did not pass. Second time i ran out of time and stopped at 245 quest and passed. So believe me you can pass 2nd time no matter what. What i used to study was the hurst review. It is a live lecture or if they do not come to your state you can take it on-line. It was extremely helpful. What she does is go over almost everything you need and should know, but in a very informative, creative way. About 90% of my nclex exam was material i studied while doing the hurst review. Of course i did not remember every single bit of it, but i studied my butt off and took the time to learn the material instead of memorizing it. Now others may think differently b/c different strokes for different folks but the hurst review absolutely worked for me. But like i said you HAVE to learn the material and not just memorize it. I think that was my problem the 1st time i took nclex, i did not learn it like i should have. So instead of giving up on hurst i studied 10X harder and learned the material. You can go to hurstreview.com for more info if you don't know about it and are interested. Also in my opinion i think it's best to try and stick with 1 or maybe 2 different kinds of books. What i mean is trying to do quest out of saunders, kaplan, ect.... may get you confused using too many diff books is just too much for the brain to handle. I would just use one if you can find one you really like. However, the #1 thing that got me a passing score was FAITH and PRAYER!!! I told my self with FAITH I could absolutely pass this test and I DID!!! Good luck, if i can help you anymore let me know

Just found out I passed the boards
Congrats, i too passed nclex on the 19th.:wink2:

With Faith and Prayer
Thank you!!! I am living proof it can be done to fail at the minimum # of quest and pass afterwards. You can do it too. Good Luck. If i can give you any advice please don't hesitate to ask.

With Faith and Prayer
Hello to all, I am the happiest person alive right now just received my results. After not passing nclex the 1st time with 75 quest, i am now officially an RN. Prayer and Faith is what did it for me. The 1st time i had NO faith but this time was different. During my exam friday my time ran out and i was in total shock, b/c i was thinking there is no way i could have passed and didn't even finish the exam, then i thought i have too much Faith to feel this way. I want to thank all of you that gave me encouraging words. This website was my bestfriend during this long nclex journey. Good luck to all who are still waiting to take the nclex and who waiting on results. I want to help people like others helped me, so feel free to ask for advice. Btw i did hurst review and it was great, but you have to study it like she advices. I know different things work for different people but this is what worked for me. I was not one to answer 1,000 questions a night i just really tried to understand the core content. Thanks for listening.:loveya:

Do you think nclex is fair?
Personally, i do not think nclex is fair at all. In my opinion one can be pretty good guesser and pass over a really smart person. I think the whole test plan is ridiculous but of course there is nothing we can do about it. I don't understand how one test can prove safe nursing practice, just b/c one passess doesn't mean they will never make a mistake and vice versa. Just b/c one doesn't pass does not mean they will kill their pts or will not be a safe nurse. But it is what it is, so we just have too pass this beast of a test. Good Luck to you

Results
Hi, has anyone ever recieved their results back on sunday after taking the exam that friday? Is it possible to get results back on a sunday?
-
Can you pass when getting low level quest wrong?
What i mean by low level are the questions that ask things like "what would be a s/s of cushing's syndrome? Or how can the nurse determine if the equipment is malfunctioning? Those type of things, I feel like those are the type of questions they think every nurse grad should know. However, it's easy to get a little thrown off especially when you're nervous even if you know the answer. But you are right what seems easy to one indivdual might be difficult to the next and vise versa. I just hope i was above passing on my last 60 quest considering i ran out of time.

Need input please!!!!
I know no one knows the level of question they are on, but has anyone passsed nclex-rn after feeling like a lot of their quest were basic knowledge (low level) quest? Mine seem to go back and forth, so i don't know what to think.

The last 60 quest
Sly3274 I tested yesterday aug 15th. How do you think you did on your test. Mine felt like it went back and forth from easy to hard to easy quest, that's why im so scared i don't know what the computer thought about me. But i will keep you in my prayers.

The last 60 quest
Ok so i took nclex-rn today, ran out of time at quest 245 (yea i know, im a slow test taker) but this was my 2nd time so i really took my time to think about each quest and answer. Anyway i know that when running out of time they only grade the last 60 quest. My quest is what if most of them were lower level? Also i heard if you get more quest right than wrong then you pass. What if i got 31 of my last 60 right, does this indicate i passed. Please any advise is appreciated. I Know i need to just be patient and wait it out. But it's soooooooo hard. Thanks in advance!!!!!!

Can you pass when getting low level quest wrong?
Hi there, anyone out there pass nclex-rn and obviously got basic knowledge questions wrong? You know the supposedly lower level questions. I tested today and ran out of time at 245 but can recall a few (what i would consider lower level quest) wrong. I really don't know what to think.

Please Help!!! Anyone Pass After Running Out Of Time?
Really? So i still have a chance? What if toward the end (my last 60 quest) i had more lower level than higher level? could i still pass? And i know one can't tell if the questions were higher level or lower level but i need some advise. I know the best thing to do is just wait it out. Thanks

Please Help!!! Anyone Pass After Running Out Of Time?
Anyone Pass Nclex After The Computer Shut Off And You Had Not Completed The Test? Well This Just Happened To Me. I Was On Quest 245 And "boom" It Shut Off. This Was My 2nd Attempt, The 1st Time I Only Had 75 Quest So I Feel A Little Bit Better Knowing I Was Still In The Game (going Past 75). However, Overall I Feel Terrible. This Test Was Nothing Like The 1st Which I Guess Is A Good Sign Considering I Didn't Pass The 1st Time. But This Time I Felt Like I Completely Guessed On Almost Every Quest. I Really Need Some Advise, These Next Few Days Are Going To Be Sooooo Long And Dreadful.

Anyone fail with 75 questions??
I'm sure you did well, but as you probably read my post (above yours) i didn't think the test was very difficult in other words i thought well maybe i knew my stuff well tha'ts why it didn't seem all that hard. I was telling myself i couldn't have failed at 75, surely i knew enough for it to continue and give me a chance but obviously not. I will retest in the middle of this month and pray to get positive results. In the mean time Good Luck!!!:wink2: How many SATA did you get, what about meds, and math? As they say it doesnt' matter what kind of quest you get i'm just curious. I really hope you passed, it very rare for someone to say this test was not that hard, i pray i am familiar with most things on the test.

Anyone fail with 75 questions??
faithangel08, well when my test stopped at 75 i felt like "wow" either i knew my stuff really well or i just failed this test big time. I honestly did not think it was all that bad. I mean it wasn't easy but it was not super hard either. I think it was b/c i never really made it to the higher level questions. I did have quite a few SATA and priority but I didn't feel like it was bad. So if you thought your test was very difficult you probably did fine. Of course i don't know but I'll be praying for you and hope you don't have to go through what i went through. Best of Luck to you and stay positive!!! And if you don't get the results you want remember it's okay!!! Your not alone. You will Pass this test eventually. Again I bet you did fine. Good Luck:wink2: Keep in touch.

Rumor about NCLEX
The lady that created the nclex review course that i am currently using says that it is not ture, that the test does not focus on your weak areas. She says that it is all in our mind that if we are weak in an area it will seem that they are asking a lot of those questions. I myself believe this to be true. I recieved quite a few infection control on my nclex-rn exam it seemed like 100 questions b/c i was not strong in this area, but it may have been about anywhere from 5-10 questions. So i don't really feel it focuses on your weak areas. Like the review lady said (and she's been doing this nclex stuff a long time) the computer does not have a "soul" or a "mind" it just comes up with questions. So who knows!!!

Anyone fail with 75 questions??
Well immediately coming out of the test i honestly did not feel like i had failed. I thought humm that wasnt that bad, i didn't think it was all that easy either but i didn't think it was the worst test i had ever taken. So after time passed i started feeling really bad b/c i remember the hurst review lady saying if you didn't feel like it was hard you prob knew your material or you stayed in the lower level quest. Well i kept telling myself surely i didn't do that bad for them to shut me off at 75q. I knew i knew enough to at least get more than 75 if the computer doubted me. But I obviously didn't. Needless to say i was extremely nervous during my test and answered without thinking, i mean i knew the answer to a lot of the quest but picked a different answer b/c i thought they were trick quest. (How stupid of me). So anyway my feelings about the test went back and forth until i finally got my results and even then i kept saying this has got to be a mistake, i know i knew enough to at least keep going past 75q, surely i didn't fail at 75. But i had to accept the fact that i did and move on. To the quest do i remember getting a lot wrong. Like i said yes, i knew i picked silly answers b/c i thought well that's way too obvious; they think i'm going to pick that so i'll pick this answer. That was not a smart idea, to think they were trying to trick me. There were plenty things that looked familar to me but i just didn't go with my gut feeling. As for the SATA, i can remember getting anywhere from 6-10 but im not real sure. I know it was not a whole lot, but enough. I know people say they get like 25-30 and pass, but some get maybe 5-10 and still pass so i really don't think that matters much. I do remember getting tons of teaching, like which pt would require follow up if they stated the following or which statement if made by a pt would require call back. I had a lot of those type questions. I had about 3-4 math, quite a few meds, very little mang/deleg, and a handful of prioritization and quite a few infection control (this was mainly in my SATA) so i'm sure i got all those wrong. But anyway everybody's test is different so if your test was similar to mine Please don't think you failed. Just have Faith that you Passed and Good Luck to you. If you have anymore questions please ask. Keep in touch, let us know how you did. And again Good luck:nuke:

Nclex Aug 11
Hi there, first of all i agree that kaplan questions are a lot like nclex. I have taken it once and will retake in aug. I am currently using the hurst review book for content (it's really good with content). However, i am using the kaplan book for practice questions. Although the hurst review people suggest i just stick to one review method. But the kaplan questions are too similar to the nclex i can't just not do them. Like i stated i did not pass boards my first attempt but i know how my first test was and i would strongly suggest kaplan. I did not use kaplan before testing the first time. As for your other books i don't know much about them. I my self am trying to just stick with 1 or 2 review books b/c i learned when you try to study from too many it just gets you all confused. But that's just my opinion, I really feel much better about retaking the exam with just using hurst and kaplan, so my opinion would be to just get the 1 book or maybe 2 that YOU feel most comfortable with and use them, but again kaplan questions really are similar to nclex. Whatever you decide to use just have Faith in yourself (something i did not have the first time, but wish i would have had) and Believe in yourself. You Can Do It. Just be calm and don't worry about getting every question right you just have to get a certain % right. Anyway Good Luck!!!! I retake my test a few days after you and i will tell my self the same as i just told you. WE CAN DO THIS:nuke: Keep us posted on how your doing.

NCLEX August 8th
I don't feel you should reschedule unless you truely feel in your heart that your not ready. I really don't think any amount of time is enough to prepare for this test so 3 weeks or 33 weeks you will probably feel the same way about the test. I prepared like crazy for weeks and weeks and did not pass. However, i have a friend (believe it or not) that studied just 2 DAYS before her test and passed. And no she is not real smart at all, in fact she made mostly "C" 's on test in school. I was B/C student on test in school but i studied really hard. My point is anything is possible studying for weeks and failing and studying for a few days and passing. You just never know. I think the most important thing is just to stay Positive and have Faith and also stay calm and believe that you can do it. :nuke: Good luck!!!

THE 15 that dont count???
