  1. If the ad was falsely misleading in any way I'm not sure I could trust them with anything else. Be careful.
  2. starting salary in TENNESSEE anyone....38 years experience at 23.00 hour in Dr. office....anyone getting COL or raises or bonuses....
  3. I have to quit reading these because I am getting depressed....38 years experience...25 years in same MD office....4 weeks vac, some holidays...less than $25 per hour in Tennessee...I have been "topped out" for years without any pay raises...even cost of living...
  4. the Dr isn't involved....it is the office manager putting it off on nursing staff....I feel it should at least be her job....I have enough to do already.....this is a new thing all of a sudden......
  5. Does anyone know if it should concern a nurse legally/ethically if she is involved in a patient's balance? Should the nurse have to call the patient and tell her she has to pay her balance of $$$ before she can be seen?...I thought nurses were not to be involved b/c therefore they could not/would not do patient care based on that.......not that we would anyway...Am I wrong to think the accounting dept that does billing and posts payments should do this? Seems nurses have enough to do without this added on...I am working in a Dr. office..........
  6. so far testing and giving antibiotics seems to be decreasing the rate of babies ending up in ICU for respiratory problems due to GBS...it is worth it to keep these babies from dying...
  7. can't remember now why it was the third grade that I decided to become a nurse and then I was one....I do remember somewhere in high school that my mom said how important it was for women to have a career they could fall back on in case they needed to support themselves...must have been psychic......sure was glad after divorcing after 18 years of marriage...of course, I had been working all along...
  8. had a cap that was rounded some at the top and we also got stripes...ours were purple and were veritcal...wore it for several years...of course that WAS several years ago....I think we had a pin and I may have it somewhere and it was purple and gold...school colors..
  9. graduated age 19...took RN boards on my 20th birthday...many years ago............
  10. NP's do fairly well if you get in a good ofc....may be difficult to go back to school if you have been out awhile.........really the only way to go for most is to teach or be an administrator....
  11. I have been a nurse for 38 years and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who wants to take care of patients because it is so much paper/computer work now that you don't have time to. What happened to patient care?
