  1. You are a very strong person. I know this because you had the ability to come forth and admit your problem and then share it with a bunch of strangers. Plus you sought help and you are now seeking additional help. Just take it all one day at a time.
  2. The ability to leave a lifetime impression on someone. Just the way the nurses I had as a child have left on me. Not to mention maybe to be the inspiration to go into the nursing field themself. Just like the nurses I had inspired me to do. Nurses are angels sent down to Earth in disguise.
  3. I have only been a member of this site for a few days and I am already super hooked on it! Any information you can imagine regarding nursing can be found somewhere on this website. Not to mention the fact that there are so many wonderful people who have already informed me of so much that I did not know. I could not praise and thank this site enough! AllNurses.Com ROCKS!
  4. I'm peeking! Only because I have more male friends than I do female friends. Plus I have a lot of respect for the male nurses because this is a predominately classed "female" type job. I have posted in this forum a few time too. Oops!
  5. I am so glad that I joined this site! I am definitely going to check into the accelerated BSN program so that I can become an RN. You guys are so great! Thanks!
  6. I was born completely blind in my right eye. I have had an artificial eye since around the age of 2. I have never had issues in jobs because of my vision impairment. I hope it doesn't cause me problems in Nursing. I start nursing school in June.
  7. I am completely deaf in my right ear. I am also completely blind in my right eye. I have had an artificial right eye since I was about 2 years old. I was also born with a cleft lip/palate. I spent the majority of my young adult life in a Children's Medical Center having surgeries. I know ASL, lip reading, and I am wanting to learn how to read braile just to have the knowledge. I want to become a nurse in order to give back to other children like myself the way my nurses gave me to. :redbeathe
  8. I think animal even when they are not being used in a medical therapy sense still have healing abilities. I have a cat and a dog and even on my worst days they can make me feel better. They either make me laugh or they will snuggle up next to me and let me know that they love me even if I feel the rest of the world is against me. I am 110% for pet therapy being used and it actually working in a beneficial and substantial way.
  9. For right now I am just planning on gettiny my Associate's degree in Nursing so that I can become an LPN. I was just mentioning the fact that I already had a BA in Criminal Justice because that knocks a lot of my Pre-Req's out of the way. Any additional information would be great. Thanks!

Thank you for those links! I was going to go to one college and through those links I found out they were not accredited. You saved me a lot of time and hassle. I am going somewhere else that I know is accredited. Thanks so much!
  11. I already have a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Wright State University. I am going back to school to get my STNA in June. It's a 5 week course. I am then going on from there to get my LPN. The LPN degree is 2 years long. Do you think it can get cut down some because of my previous degree and my STNA certification? If so about how much do you think could get cut out time wise? Thanks for any information you can provide. I would really appreciate it!
  12. I am going to take classes to get my STNA in June. I am hoping that will give me a good idea of what Nursing can be like. Then go on from there to get my LPN. If I really like it from there I plan on getting my RN. Who knows? I am just taking it one day at a time!
  13. I am a pre-nursing student and I am pretty sure that I either want to work in Peds or OB. Working in a children's hospital would be a dream come true for me!
