Free CNA training
Can I ask what the pay range is for a CNA at Millers? I'd really like to get into it, but if it would mean taking a pay cut from where I am at now, its not worth it.

Now with NLNAC accreditation, it may be easier for credits to transfer. You may want to look into it again!

Ivy Tech 'Fall 2010' Applicants
Well I got my rejection letter(s) last Friday but it was to be expected with a 188 (two Bs and two As, 85 TEAS). But heck after reading these Lawrence cutoffs I am glad I decided to step back from nursing! Congrats to all those who were accepted!!! I was accepted by IUPUI and will officially be starting my BSW this fall!

I will be ending up with a B in 101. BLECH! Leaving me at 188 points. We will see what the letter says come June, but I know I will not be getting into RN for sure and LPN is kinda distant. I've actually been doing a little soul searching lately and since I won't be getting in RN, I am almost 100% positive I will be transferring to IUPUI to start working on a BSW. It's really taking a toll on me to maybe get into a program and I really cannot take any more time to get something rolling. I know that eventually down the road I can go back for my BSN, and getting a degree in social work still allows me to do what my passion is- helping others and making a difference. I am hoping to eventually hold a masters in both! I'll stick around through letters and see how everything goes, but I would be very surprised to see me stick around much longer.

IVY TECH LPN admissions
It all depends on the applicant pool

Ugh 39/50 on my lab I didn't realize I missed that many! I have SEVEN points to work with now to keep an A. Meaning I have like 240 points possible remaining in the course and can ONLY miss 7 Blah. I feel this slipping away.

Ok, Fine... no Ivy Tech... Love of nursing!
i'm sorry...i really wasn't trying to be rude. i have the tendency to not watch my tone online lol. i'm just being honest with you, to tell the truth. i'm really glad (sincerely) that you have faith. you need it! i'm just saying, that from my experience these past two years, those specific grades don't make it in. however, i did preface that in the other thread by also saying that it is dependent upon the applicant pool. i never said i am in. i'm waiting for my letter just like you, and i applied with what will hopefully be three as and one b. i highly doubt i will get in. i really do wish you luck :redbeathe @is5512- most likely, yes. mainly because of the flexibility i have and the multiple campuses i can attend. i don't have any issues with the school though. with the exception of one prof, i've loved all of my teachers and thoroughly enjoy my classes. itcc also doesn't charge an app fee which was a big deal for me :) can't afford to spend $40 per school!

Good for you! I need to dig around for my handbook although I am sure there is a copy online somewhere...

Ivy Tech Columbus Fall 2010 applicants
Explain myself? I'm a student that's been at Ivy Tech for 2 years now. Its not hard to figure out the average score that is expected for the ASN/LPN program. Most of us on here know what to shoot for and what we need to work on to increase our score. The information is readily available to students...

Just a rant
Oh yes, so pointless...

Umm Ivy Tech is $95 a credit hour and it will be going up for the 2010 school year. I'm not going to throw you a pity party. It sucks that your experience doesn't get you anywhere, but you WANT to be a nurse? Then get the grades to do so. There are PLENTY of other students who are killing themselves to get amazing grades, and getting all As is completely possible. You will not find another program that is going to really expect anything less than maybe a 3.8 GPA wise for pre reqs. Retake the classes. Complaining about "perfect grades" isn't going to do anything for you. You should look into taking the IVY 101 class...gives you resources to control your own destiny rather than sit back and let something else control it.

MedTech College
Think about that: 5 years ago. ITCC does not do interviews. 2. ONLY 40 credits toward BSN? So therefore you have to retake about 30 credits, thus spending MORE money? LOL By the time I graduate with my BSN I will have still spend less money than it cost you to go to MedTech AND IW. Key words here are for profit. No thanks. There is no waitlist. People make it seem more difficult than it is. Get four As in pre reqs and a good score on the TEAS and you should be good. It's funny that MedTech students offer up all these horror stories about ITCC but I have several friends in the ASN program right now. One of them had four As and an 87 on the TEAS. A total of 210. I wonder how it is that she got in and you didn't if you very obviously aced your TEAS? Also you have to consider that 5 years ago the program wasn't nearly as competitive as it is now. There's nothing wrong with weighing all of your options. I, personally, would never steer anyone in the direction of a for profit school. I'd stick with the programs that offer you the best chance of getting a job and furthering your education.

Thanks tnbutterfly! Funny enough, he LOVES Spiderman and literally wants to be him LOL. We had a blast :) Glad I got to spend some quality time with him since I am soooo busy with school right now. I think I did pretty well on the 101 exam! I always freak out at the last minute because I don't study enough and think it is going to be harder than it is, and it always ends up pretty easy. I have 25 points left I think to work with, and 4 tests remaining to be graded. I can miss about 6 questions on each test and still maintain my A. Crossin' everything at this point! Also, picked up a part time job at the tanning bed by my house :) Its not much, but at least it will be something once my unemployment runs out! Another picture of the kiddo :) I can't believe I have been on here for so long and have never posted pictures...I'm in this one. You can see how freakin' giant he is compared to me! Anyway, I'm not hard to miss with my bright red highlights in my hair, so if anyone sees me on campus stop me and say hi!!

Good luck! I will keep my fingers crossed for you :) I wanna say that I heard upper 190s is pretty much a shoo in for LPN, and like you its a start and at least the start of a new career! On another note, sorry I've been so MIA lately ladies I've been so freaking busy lately especially with these extra 3 classes I had to pick up. I am ready for this semester to be over with!

eng 211 online?
I am currently taking 211 online right now. I'd stress to take it in the 16 weeks, not shortened as there is a lot of work to do. There are no exams, just several different types of papers to write (memos, business letters, resumes, etc). I think I would have been bored out of my mind had I took it in the classroom. Its a pretty simple class, you just have to stay on top of the work.

Ivy Tech 'Fall 2010' Applicants
Today's the day! Unfortunately I am stuck with an 85% on my TEAS which wasn't enough to push me over 200. So long as I maintain this A in 101 I will end up with 198 total which I doubt is good enough. Three As and only one B! I am hoping I don't have any issues getting into LPN though :) The wait is on! I am headed up to Lawrence right now to get my transcripts and turn in my apps!

There is no way that you weren't accepted with a 4.0 on pre reqs and an awesome TEAS score. I also wasn't aware that ITCC did interviews...
