  1. I graduated from Hondros' Fairborn first LPN class in June 2009. I then went on to West Chester's ADN program and graduated in Dec 2010 and passed my RN boards in Jan 2011. I first landed a job in LTC and then got hired at a hospital in their telemetry floor in March 2011 eventually moving to the float pool where I worked med-surg, telemetry, ICU, and ER between two hospitals. in July 2013 I relocated to Knoxville TN. I interviewed at 3 ERs and was offered a job in all three. I took a job and currently work in a level one trauma ER. Hondros college grads do get hired in hospitals. Many of my fellow grads work is many hospital networks in the Dayton and Cincinnati area as well in areas throughout the country. Hondros college is a great nursing school and is only getting better.
  2. I will be moving to Knoxville TN in June 2013. I am a RN with 2 years hospital experience and was a LPN for 1 1/2 years prior to thatworking in LTC. I currently work in the float pool working in med-surg,telemetry, ICU, and emergency department. I have already started the process for obtaining my TN license. I was wondering if anyone could share some information aboutwhere are the best hospitals to work at and which ones to avoid. I am looking for positions in the ED or float pool. I appreciate any insight anyone can give me.
  3. When I took my NCLEX-PN in Sep 2009, I tried the Pearson Vue trick. I got the good pop-up and the next day I found out Idid pass. Today, I took the NCLEX-RN and again I got the good pop-up. I have not heard of one case where somebody got the good popup and failed. If anyone knows differently, please let me know. My test finished at 75 questions and that freaked me out. I thought for sure that I failed. I was even afraid to try the Pearson Vue trick this time,

  6. Well, I am a believer. the trick worked for me. yesterday I tried it and got the pop up. Today I found out through the Ohio State Board of Nursing's website that I am a active LPN.
  7. Great job Francis on achieving your RN. Hopefulling in about 18 months, I'll be doing the same. As for my LPN I do feel pretty confident by using the "trick"
  8. I took the NCLEX-PN todAY AT 12PM Eastern Time. I tried Pearson Vue trick at 8pm Eastern and I received the "Our records indicate that you have recently sceduled this exam. Please contact your Member Board for assistance. Another registration cannot be made at this time" message. I'll let you all know on Weds what this REALLY means. By most of the posts on this thread that sounds like a good thing, but I think I'll wait until I get the offical resulsts before I celebrate. Good Luck to all of those who are getting ready to take the NCLEX,congrates to all of those who passed, and for those who unfortunatley did not pass, hang in there and don't give up.
  9. Congrats, Firefly. Thanks for the tips. Hopefully, I'll be taking the NCLEX-PN this summer. How long did it take to get your results?
  10. I just finished OB/Peds. hated it.
  11. I think that is the opinion of your instructor. I have not experienced that in my clinicals, and i have talked to a few male nurses and they never expressed that more was expected of them than females. It might of been that way 20 -30 years ago.
  12. USAF Alex, Have you looked into AECP, Airman Education and Commissioning program? You get paid as an E-5 with BAH/BAS while the Air Force sends you to school and they pay for your tution and books. Nursing is one of the few degrees AECP covers. Check with your base's Education Office for more information.
