Soo I'm taking my pccn in November , super nervous bc my test taking skills suck but none the less I've been studying for it the past two monts, any questions in particular that I need to concentrate on , abgs interpretation ? anything specific , anything at all will help :) as far as studying goes , I've been reading the progressive care nursing certification book by Thomas Ahrens, donna prentice, ruth kleinpell. my coworker recently passed the pccn and told me it was more common sense bc I told her the book has some really tough questions , so it makes me wonder how ready I am .

awww man dragon thats rough man , sorry you had to go through that , hey man r u a new nurse ? I dont get north jersey RN jobs , why arent anybody hiring , in houston its not that hard to land a job as a RN in any of the main hospitals even level 1 trauma centers believe or not ( well it did get harder since last yr but stilll geez north jersey is crazyyyy man ) and in the rejection letter what do they exactly say about working corrections that disqualifies you in working with prisoners or psych pts in general ??? geeez mannn this part of the country is something else for nurses i tell ya lol

hey dragon have u heard anything from umdnj , i'm thinking about applying as well :), are they even hiring ( i'm from texas so i have no idea about anything in north jersey lol ) will be moving to north jersey at the end of this yr

yeh I got my RN license october 2010 but before that I was a LPN for 2.5 years working med surg at a hospital in houston :) , now what do you think of my chances of getting hired ? I got my ACLS as well and past 6 months i've been in critical care intermediate care unit :)

and when you say certifications , like I got my ACLS and as a lpn I became iv certified if that counts :)

HEYYYYY LAPORTAN :) , thanks for replying , umm i'm gonna be living near Teaneck/Leonia North Jersey area ( sorry not quite sure where that is either lol , i'm just another dumb Texan lol ) , would you happen to know as well if Hospitals will count my lpn experience or even look at it ? any advise to where to start looking , etc , etc any good step down units hiring that u know of , any info will help :)

heyy guys i'm moving to north jersey from texas in the next 6 months and I was wondering if the hospitals are hiring at this time , been a lpn on medsurg floor for 2 1/2/ years and in october i've been in critical care stepdown unit for a year this coming october as a RN , do I have a good chance of getting hired up there by any of the hospitals ???? any bit of information would help this TEXAN )))))
