  1. It will get better. My first year I was the same way. I'm now 1 1/2 years into my nursing career. It gets much better. Just take it one day at a time. Remeber, it's always good to learn 1 new thing each day. Keep asking questions if you're not sure. Much luck to you!
  2. I feel your pain. Hang in there, I am. We can do this!!!!!!
  3. Hello I have been unable to obtain a new grad nursing job. I have applied to several hospitals in different states and even agreed to take the NCLEX-RN for those states that are not compact states. I recently flew out to the east coast for an interview and when I got there a few interviewers canceled because the positions were filled. That was a waste of $800.00. I received a call from a recruiter last week, I returned her call the next day...no call back. I called a couple days later...no call back. I called again after the weekend and she returned my call, but I was outside and missed the call...my bad! I called her back 20 minutes after she called...no call back. I take my boards 7/4/08 and I really ask myself what's the point?! But I have already invested over 2 years of my life to this; can't quite now. Pray for me, please.
  4. I have 2 weeks left of school and I cannot find a new grad position in my area. Very discouraging!
  5. I know SMH is starting at $28 Meriter $29 Wheaton Franciscian $22 in Milw. as of 4/25/08
  6. I just interviewed with WF and starting pay is $22 and the insurance is terrible. Thank goodness I received a "Dear John" letter. That would have meant a commute of 1 1/2 hrs.
  7. Ask yourself one question; What do I want to do? I, myself, do not like cleaning up vomit and wiping stool from someones bottom! Think about the patients, not yourself. Ask yourself; What would I feel like vomiting all over and needing help? Put yourself in their place. They need your help. I hope this helps!
  8. I graduate from Madison Area Technical College in 2 weeks. The program has a long wait list, but the instructors are great. The administrators of MATC are not RN program friendly. MATC has increased the grade standards to pass the RN program only. No matter what your decision, you need to live, breathe, and sleep RN school. Study, study, and study. Warn family and friends that you have a primary goal to become an RN and ask them to give you support by not bothering too much with everyday stuff. To learn more clinical and "on the floor" skills; hands down MATC. The UW doesn't start clinical until their 2nd year, I think.
