  1. with NS you will have infiltration but not always extravasation
  2. I really think bed making should be ulliminated from all nursing programs. A little more time on actual nursing science, it is a BScN afterall, would be nice.
  3. scrubs wear are also soft
  4. thank you, we do not have the same vac supplies in Victoria. I see that with the right dressing material the vac would be an excellent choice.
  5. I dont know about the US but in canada you cant wear shoes with a heel strap. If you have any sort of on the job injury they can deny you insurance due to inproper footwear.
  6. That is so untrue. It has been my experience that many of the best nurses are prone to anxiety and depression. Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on how you look at it, the best characteristics of a nurse may also be an individuals greatest challenges. Being very analytical, sensitive, a problem solver, meticulous, wise beyond ones age.
  7. The only thing that works for me is rotating my shoes. I wear several different types of runners and clogs. I basically wear a different pair of shoes for each shift in my set.........I dont know why this works for me???????
  8. wound vacs are not indicated for infected wounds
  9. I guess it depends on where you go to school. I have quite a few friends and coworkers going from lpn to rn right now and they hate it. They have to spend so much time covering the basics. Also they are doing practicums in very basic care areas while they work partime in acute areas.
  10. staring down a doctor does no good it just enforces the boundries between nurses and MD's
  11. you are joking
  12. You fall asleep with gum in your mouth watching regis and kelly................and now you have bangs
  13. shoes with holes in them or sling backs arn't covered by wcb
  14. have enough fear to work with caution but not enough to stop you working. Listen, investigate, discuss, share and think logically
  15. Burn nursing requires patience
  16. I am so tired of being sick. I have been out of school for three years and I am still sick at least once a month. The floor I work on is a very heavy med/surg floor and it is chroniclly short staffed...............missed breaks, poor eating habits, lack of sleep, lack of senior staff for support..................Its difficult to keep your immunity and energy up. However, I love my job
