Hello I am looking into Everest University,they have an accelerated program for Nursing that is 2 years long. i am sure that they are not nationally acredted but they are credited in Florida. I lvie in Florida and am desperately trying to get into Nursing.I have so many odds against me like criminal history that is over 10 years old. I do have my rights reinstated but its still a pain to have this in your history wwhen applying to schools. I am getting really frustrated with the cost of these private schools. But I feel like this is my only alternative. I started my pre reqs with outh University but they do not guarantee the slot in the nursig program. I just feel like I am beating my head agains the wall . My question would be has anyone attended Everest. I am concerned how to get a 4 year degree in 2 years.:redbeathe

Hello I do not know if I am posting this to the correct area of the message forum. If I am in the wrong area I am sorry but I really need to ask this question. If I am going to school for my Associates in nursing at South University, this is a 2 year course the diploma would be an associates. Can I sit for the boards with this 2year associates. I do not want to waste money and time. I am doing this on line with my clinicals beiing done at the campus here in Tampa. I am so confused. I want to become an RN more than anything. I have to do this but I want to do it the right way can anyone tell me if this degree in Allied Health Science is the route that I need to be on. I have taken the innitiative to talk to the school about the BSN program as well. The school told me that I would have to take this Allied Health Science and then go for my BSN. That sounds crazy to me. I just want to practice Nursing. What should I do I am so confused. Myt student advsior is not helping at all. Please help me if you can any suggestions would help.

I was told yesterday when I went to register for Jan 09 to take my PRE REQS that it would take 3.5 years to finish the whole course. Nursing and Pre reqs not bad if you ask me considering I have waited 25 years to do this. I feel blessed to have gotten to where I am at. I am currently taking classes onm line till te=hen. I really hope and pray to make it.

I am not sure about this particular sittuation but speaking for myself. I am in recovery adn have previous charges. I had to go through alot of stuff to get where I am at in my pre reqs. I had to seek the state of Florida Pardon and reinstaement of my civil rights in order to start my pre reqs. I also waited for 11 years before I EVER APPROACHED THIS ISSUE. I am now where I so desire to be I amin school working on Pre Reqs and have every intenetion to pursue nursing in the future. I cna say that it is hard but I would also consult with the BON and recognize that everything is doe an a case to case basis.T he more proof that you have abotu the sittuation adn how it was resolved the better the chance was my understanding when I spoke to the BON OF FLORIDA last year. I pray alot and I stay strong and keep the faith one day at a time. This is how I have made it this far. Good Luck to you

Hi I am there with you I have been sober for some time now and I am trying to get into Nursing school. You are lucky to be a nurse please do not take it for granted and get your recovery and your stuff right because it is well worth the ride that you are going to take on this rollercoaster we call recovery lol:) I have been a user all my life and because I could not go to school at all for 10 plus years. Afterall the trying I was told I could start my Pre Reqs in November if I pass my GED in Sept this next week. Ia m nervouse but you know what God did not bring me this far to let me fall . That is what you have to believe is that God loves you and so do I that is because you are you and I am me. Hello I have been trying forever too. I finally found a school that will let me start taking my Pre Reqs adn I was told that the private colleges are bad and this and that today. It almost made me cry but you know what I am going to go because I want this more than anything in my life. I have screwed around with this decision forever and I am tired of waiting. So I am going. If there is a South University where you are check them that is where I am going to start. I am taking my GED on the 23rd of Sept and I hope to pass to start my Pre Reqs in November Ia m so desperate and tired I just want to go to school. I know how it feels trust me but dont give up it will happen ok. If it is happening for me by all means it wil for you too.

Hello Everyone I am so excited today. I am 40 years old and have been trying to get into school for the longest. I kept running into every NO and not now that you can imagine. Today I got a yes in November for Pre Reqs and then a great maybe that is based on my GPA that I will have upon completion of my Pre Reqs. It is not alot for those of you that are done with school or that have already made it past this point. I can say that for me this is my obstacle that I have overcome. I have done some really dumb things when I was a kid, that have so far cost me just about everything that was good for me in life. I always felt like I got the bad end of the deal. Until I met my Husband who told me that everything is possible as long as you believe. I did that I started to believe in my dream. I am here I am going to school in November or January whichever is open after all my paperwork is done I will know the for sure start date. I am so excited to be where I am at right now that I had to tall everyone that is thinking about school or is already in school. I just want to say be grateful for where you are because I truly am grateful for the slot that God has opened for me. I am so excited to know that I will be able to provide a better life for my family now. I see me in school as a start at a new life with a great beginning. I thank all of the members here for the post and the support you guys are awesome. This group is one of my motivators and it is great to be able to share this with the group. Hello I am doing the same thing with the clemancy in Florida I have learned a little bit I can help you with soem of it you cna send me a private message and I can give you the tips that I have found so far also the site to the clemancy board is https://fpc.state.fl.us/Clemency.htm you can go to that site and download the application for Florida and go to the courthopuse and get the records and mail it in see what happens make sure to follow the directions or it is no use I had one that was sent back to me already. I also found out that the laws changed adn that the Voters right are now given back to you once you complete your State obligations. I was excited to hear that a 2.5 in Florida is good I am in Tmapa and am planning on going to HCC in the Spring to start my PREREQS for the Nursing program that is offered in Brandon. I am currently taking an MA course at COncorde to get my in the field while I go to school for my RN. This has been a dream for a long time and I am at the point in my life that I am ready to start I am 40 and it is never to late. I have some legal stuff that is over 10 years old that I am presently working on getting sealed. I have to go for a pardon adn that is going to be the hardest thing that I do. I was told that I really did not need to do that as the charges are so old and substance abuse related. I have undergone treatment and have been sober for over 10 years. I have a few obstacles but this is what I want to do. I am not going to stop until someone tells me that I have to. I have my children that are watching what I am doing and if nothing else it will teach them never to give up on a dream. I am here for any type of suggestions that you all may have for me. I am open to any ideas to help me achieve my goal and live my dream.
