filipino to migrate in Canada.... what to do to become a RN?
It was a Big nursing Home facility which has branches all over Canada. I applied as a graduate nurse. My problem actually is the Head or Owner? made a contract that stated ten yrs. of for permanent term if possible....as the term of the contract- that was probably a problem..that could have made the consul disagree...anyway ...it all dpends on how he/she will interpret this...My employer told me to reapply after I was denied but still she did not change the term of contract that she wrote...it was still for ten years.

NEED ADVICE:CONTINUE NCLEX APPLICATION INSPITE OF RECESSION and RETROGRESION?
BLESSED23, I do not wish to discourage you. I have always wanted to work in the U.S. because I felt so secured when I was there in 2001 as a tourist. I wanted to bring my family back to the U.S. and build my house there. I wanted to be walking in the streets and inhale and exhale American air. I wanted to let my husband and children feel how nice it is to ride a car and travel long distances through land and still get a nice road. I wanted to have a house which has nice automized machines and truly organized gadget around the house. I passed my NCLEX, 2005, CGFNS and IELTs, have a VISA screen and even a course by course complete education equivalence by CGFNS.Have a 3 yr. experience, BUT??? i am still in the Philippines. ...today.:zzzzz Now..I should have...applied to other countries when I had finished my experience in one yr. I should have considered other trainings and spent for the training rather than paying the exams and other papers. I should have accepted other countries. That is now for you to decide.:)

filipino to migrate in Canada.... what to do to become a RN?
They said that I do not show any reason that I will come back if my contract expires, which of course cannot be explained... Are they telling me that I have the tendency to stay as illegal because I donnot need to come back to the Philippines because I already have my husband in Canada. ??? WHO is there to go back to the Philippines then??? my kids are not the reasons??/WHY should they ask this? when I am in contract in my LMO? :zzzzz I just thought, maybe the Canada Consul cannot think of anything to say, but this...which I just to put one plus one equals two. They meant to say that YOU can apply but YOU need to go back to the PHILIPPINES only if you leave your family behind. Now is my 2nd time around to apply:p because my LMO should not be wasted because it will expire by 2011. I sent my application Nov. 15 and until now there are no replies. Of course my medical is still actively in use.So I did not need another medical.

filipino to migrate in Canada.... what to do to become a RN?
I did not apply yet to the CRNNS that time( College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia.) I did not know it must be done first, so I was not eligible to work because I had no eligibility letter form the CRNNS. Now, I have applied again for the 2nd time and I already have an eligibility from the CRNNS. BUT, I decided not to bring my husband in the application anymore. and hope IO won't be denied this time around:up:

filipino to migrate in Canada.... what to do to become a RN?
I have been through this process of applying to Canada. I have an LMO and I was denied. I don't really know why. But this is my story during the process. I had an employer who contacted me thru a friend and she sent me the LMO . I included my husband in the accompanying member of the family and sent MY application without his papers in it because I thought it would be requested later by the Embassy. About after a week, I decided to send the application papers of my husband as accompanying member on open work permit to the embassy ( so it was a separate application from mine. ) for Canada . After about 2 months, I received a letter that I was denied because of some reasonable circumstance but...my husband's application reply from them, came after about 3 weeks more and indicated that he did not pass because he has not been listed as exemption to the application category???#Z%?? weird answer. So, maybe you need to let your husband apply first and when he will be there, apply the accomoanying member on open work permit.

I could see that you are a very determined person. I SALUTE you! How I wish I could share your story to my students in Nursing who have failed too. I want to hug you too. Help Pls...ca Nclex Passer Without Ssn
Well, suzanne, I am glad I read your comment here..I was getting afraid that my priority date in the NVC would mean 2012 would be the year my visa will be approved, so I decided to start applying for transfer of NClex to Vermont since that was your suggestion I think one yr. ago too. But, too my surprise, the California sent me a letter again this Month that they have extended my NCLEX result to up to 2010. They have extended it already to 2009 last yr. I am so happy about this thread. I will wait for another year again....until they get tired of renewing...until then...I would finally transfer to VERMONT.. Is this correct?

Temporary work permit application and apply as Immigrant too in Canada..is it oke
hey everyone there!!! i have a need for your answers here. i just hope someone with this same predicament could read this....................... you see, i have an employer in nova scotia who has hired me as graduate nurse in their large health care facility. to make things short, i have applied to the canadian embassy now, i have accomplished all the papers( including tthe crnns), and i am just waiting for the result which has already been four months since i sent the papers in november 2008. now, i have read and have heard from seminars here in our city that canadian immigration has accelerated in 30 labor noc specified areas including registered nurses and college instructors in which we or i belong to. i had sent an assessment check on my case and i passed . now..the question is...( wooh...that was long huh?) can anyone tell me if i could apply as an immigrant now when my papers are on the process for temporary work permit?? i need to know your opinion on this because i have ielts that is going to be one year old this march 30. i cannot spend another time reviewing for ielts anymore if this expires again( canadian requires at least one yr. old ielts at the time of the application) . please please anyone there...take your time to answer me.:icon_roll may god bless you..

Why U.S.?? when there are others...
You are right..............RIGHTO!!! I think my sis mentioned the recession might be dipping down to depression .............in U.S.
-
Why U.S.?? when there are others...
Yes, I still want to work in the U.S of A. It is not the fault of the government but...the people who believed that qualified Filipino nurses can rely on them to be able to go to U.S. fast..if you have all the documents...etcetera...well..they just failed. Now I am aiming to leave our country..but this time....I try to turn my eyes around to countries like Australia and Canada. It looks to me that my U.S. visa will be viewed on 2011. So...hmmmm.I think I ought to give other countries a chance to have my services. Agree?

IELTS 7 in each task..fair?
Looks like the replies were a bit late huh??? But anyhow.... I am a good English speaker and I have been an English tutor sometime in my past. Unfortunately, I have a very poor writing ( can't be read), quite flowery in words in Essay...so to say..I am frustrated with writing in IELTS. Okey so...may I share this knowledge that I have towards this IELTS ? I need to hear from you guys...If countries consider patients' care to be at stake in their IELTS passing score.. kindly explain....... CANADA and U.S. consider you as a passer of their required English capablity if you have a Total band score of even as low as 6.5 TOTAL. Which also shows that they want you to have a 7 as SPEAKING score and they will not mind a score of a lesser listening, reading and writing....as long as you have a total score of all these to at least 6.5 BAND SCORE They believe that verbal communication is what matters most here. AURSTRALIA, NEW ZEALAND AND IRELAND consider you to be a passer if you have NO score below 7... meaning the least score that you have should be 7...... if you have only 6.5....they won't accept you..(but Canada and U.S. will accept you) What's the difference?? Does this mean, Americans and Canadians don't need to have the best English takers compared to the other said countries? Or are these countries practically know that a matter of .5 in the score is pointless? Oh well.. I think ...they made the right decision and rules to this IELTS....thanks to these two countries.:icon_roll:yeah:

filipino to migrate in Canada.... what to do to become a RN?
Hello..I hope I could have some answers to my questions here... I am on process for a temporary work permit to Nova Scotia as a graduate nurse. Have an LMO from an employer, have passed the medical exam and had paid the CRNNS, have received my evaluation from CRNNS and the CRNNS ecommended a 2 day assessment for me to have in Capital Health because I lack about 30 theory hours in my Transcript of Records from my school. I have also applied my husband ( a helicopter mechanic) , under the open work permit as accompanying member. He just had his medical exams and passed. The questions are: 1. I have been waiting for my permit to arrive , it is almost a month since I sent my last document, the CRNNS decision. A total of almost four months of processing because they asked for CRNNS result if I could sit the CRNE . But where is it? Could someone with the same situation just kinda...comfort me with this?:stone 2. Does my husband's processing need to be in harmony with my processing time too? His medical exam was just sent to the Embassy by the Medical company last week. 3. Can I call the Embassy personally and ask this? 4. If I will be given the permit, and my husband , denied, can I start applying for my children as accompanying members ? I know..this is long..but I am so willing to be in Canada..rather than be in any where else.:heartbeat My thanks to ANYONE...who can give me a light in the dark tunnel..

To Filipino Nurses in NEW ZEALAND? Have questions please..
i am not inviting or promoting that you to have to have my firend's style in applying for your job and live in new zealand...i am just telling you that you do not need to have an agency in the philippines. she does not need to have many many concerns for these too. she has another job and is stable. she is just trying to be of help. and you don't need to spend this 300,000 to 400,000 pesos just to have a job in new zealand. but frankly speaking..even if you look into the said websites, mentioned, you need to have someone still to follow up your papers there in nz school, pay for the ttuition fee and once you are there, who fetches you at the airport? will the school provide a place to live? will they tour you around and make you familiarize with the place? oh well...it is a matter of choice...............:zzzzz

To Filipino Nurses in NEW ZEALAND? Have questions please..
Okey.. I am a second courser. :imbar I am a dentist but I also went to a good school, had my real experiences in a big hospital and had hands on on all the wards and special units. Sad to say, I could not pass the writing in IELTS even if I got 8 in all the other tasks. Have more than 3 yrs. experience..Had been to Saudi Arabia as a nurse:nurse: I have three friends who were denied on the assessment approval. They had paid the assessment and all. I got two friends though who were not approved but are also second coursers. So, I think LUCK plays a part here. :rolleyes:Now, I donnot have an agency if I have to continue in NZ. I have a friend in New Zealand who has a business in looking for a job for the nurses who passed the assessment. She looks for the place where you stay as you study and she helps you look for a nursing home or a hospital, after the CAP. You just need to pay her for the efforts done. aaan it does not add up to 100,000 If you cannot pass the IELTS and you cannot pass the assessment, you may still go through an agency that makes you spend at least 400,000 and go to NZ as a health Aide.:zzzzz Then you can look for other jobs.

To Filipino Nurses in NEW ZEALAND? Have questions please..
HI!!!! Maybe I can help. I have bbeen through this process..... Please go now to the website of http://www.NZNC.com or look for this website at the google new zealand nuring council. There, you can start downloading and print the necessary documents to fulfill. You need to go to PRC, your school and find three people who will attest to your character, pay to the New Zealand office in Makati and request for a red ribbon in DFA. But first of all. are you blue blooded NURSE? never a second courser? Good if yes...becos, you will be given a probable approval in the assessment. remember too, it does not mean that you can qualify if you got a seven all in Ielts..or have a two years experience..no no no.... You still need to pray hard....Any ways...GOOD LUCK!

VISASCREEN certificate..LOST.
hello everyone!! I am bacccck! :typing I have not been here coz, all my thoughts and concerns have been on threads since. But...this time I need your help....my co nurses ...hope you have got the time abd the experience to solve my problem. Here it goes... I lost my Visa screen certificate. How can I get another one? Do I need to re apply in the style or steps done by an initial applicant? Please don't advise on the website because I have been to the CGFNS web and it does not say at all what to do..but just says the payment fee is now 100$ for replacement of damaged, lost or dilapidated Visascreens. I don;t know whom to ask this question..BUt I know this website can help me.. It never mentioned that I need to apply as a regular applicant does. Well, do we do it like that? Thanks ahead for the replies. I really cannot understand why of all documents..this was just sort of GONE?

ielts for australia
I took the IELTS twice because of the writing part only. The first time, all my scores were 7 EXCEPT writing which was 6.5. I thought I would blame it all for not having the time to concentrate in the review for the IELTS. Then I took it again, but this time I went on leave in the school where I taught Nursing subjects and I did forego the salary loss and the amount of the review for the IELTS.... I did the IELTS and got Reading 7.5, listening, 7.5, speaking 8 ...yes...very well done now..but..my WRITING score was :crying2:still 6.5 Can't do any more:banghead:..too frustrating...well not my loss really..if Australia cannot have me as their citizen, I am not only a good nurse , I excel in almost anything I would do..plan programs, develop trainings, give outputs and establish hospital camaraderie thereby cheerfully lighting up hospitals which may be boring...:zzzzz My score is truly accepted in Canada and in the U.S. though...not to worry. :nono:hahaha Optimistic still..:chuckle

IELTS 7 in each task..fair?
Hi!..I am so excited to post this thread because I know somehow there would be a lot of concerned people that could more or less share their views on this. I just wondered if the nurses who left for New Zealand and Australia really were good in speaking, writing and listening in English. I just got frustrated because most of the countries now required an IELTS individual scores of 7. Meaning, 7 in Listening, speaking, writing and reading the English language. I know a lot of nurses who are now in New Zealand and Australia and even in Ireland who (no personal offense) are not really that good in English. I mean really...I would not say they are much better than me or my other friend, but they took the IELTS a year ago and olaaah...they passed this test and got 7 in each test. I think some agency or organization should check on this. Coz now, I heard from my firends too that most of the takers are 2nd to 4 times takers already because of the desired score of 7. Again no offense meant here..but I think some Filipinas can write and speak English correctly with the correct verb, adjective and sentence construction than the Native Aussies, Kiwis, Irelanders etc.... The IELTS they are offering now is getting more difficult than years before. I fairly think, the business of IELTS review centers in the Philippines are increasingly succesful in getting more students to re-take and do the exam again and again because of the band score on each task. :icon_roll An example is if a nurse got a 7 in speaking ,reading and writing, but got a 6.5 in listening, this does not mean she would be unqualified to practice her nursing in the said countires. Is that fair? On the next IELTS test, she got to take it again, and got 7 in all except in speaking where she got 6.5. Now this meant she failed again... and need to take it again To think...there were many factors that could affect her English scores. Personally, the speaking can be subjective as well as the writing task. Filipinos who earn so meagerly, cannot afford to pay 8,690.00 pesos evrytime for this IELTS test. Can some organization see this??? I hope to see some views from my friends here in our web...

Going Saudi first
I just want to add some important experiences that come flashing into my mind. Well..it is indeed very true that we need to wear our abayas( black long suit with a head cover) and this would allow you to walk in the streets or go malling with your friends..but there was an event that really scared me. One time, we were looking or shopping for cellular phones when we were being trailed by a disturbed saudi man. Gosh!! he was always behind us, that we have to stop in a store and get help from the owner. Another scary experience was when we were walking in the side walk .as we were about to enter the bank, a Saudi man who was about 6 feet tall walked passed us but left his palm on my forehead. Like a slap that hit my forehead...I was soo surprised that I could not move. The motion that he did was so fast or quick..that almost no one in my group witnessed it. One of my friends also had an experience of being poked on her butt..in between her upper legs..well..you know what this anatomical feature would be....It happened when we were about to board a bus going back to our work... you definitely are not allowed to stroll around the malls or to the market alone...never ever do that... In looking for a taxi, you cannot just ride into any taxi..but you have to ask a friend in the area if he/she has a Trustful taxicab driver...Even if you are in a hurry and there are about twenty taxis on queue, Forget it... About my Saudi patients, they are impatient..veryyyy impatient. They seem not to understand the word "Shuweya---" wait... BUT..i would say..if you are kind to them...they are real friendly to you...caring and become lambs ..They would give gifts and they would offer foods and even put money in your pocket. They are sensitive and they know a good nurse when they see one..... I just hope FILIPINAS(YES...FILIPINAS) would do their job well and treat them kindly even in a very tiresome duty schedule... because I think the problem stems here too.
