  1. She contacted the state licensure board by phone, we don't get a score here either, its pass or fail, but they had to explain what took so long. How long since you took your boards?
  2. I had to let you know I graduated with a girl who took her boards around the same time as I did and she never heard if she had passed for almost 6 weeks. She also had 85 questions, we tried to be supportive thinking maybe she had failed, but to her great relief she found out not only did she pass, but she had a perfect score! Thats what took so long, they had to triple check everything... So don't give up hope
  3. Thanks for the advice, everyone at work has been very supportive & I know I will learn from my mistake. I don't care if it takes me an hour to pass meds, I will slow down & double check everything.
  4. :Melody: Yes, everyone found out, because I reported it right away. Thank god the pt. was alright. I went back to work after a day off and concentrated more on what I was doing, instead of being so distracted by what everyone else was doing.
  5. I gave a patient the wrong meds, I broke the CARDINAL RULE of administration....Check the wrist band!!! How many times did instructors drill that phrase into my head? I'm still in orientation for 3 more weeks and everyone was very understanding, RN, Doc,& the patient. Everyone recounted their own tales of mistakes made thru the years, but I still feel awful!
  6. I think you may be right, I am not used to the slower pace and need to feel alittle more at ease. The thing that really got to me was a verbal attack on all the students by a patient, He "Didn't give his permission to have students watching him all day, writing stuff about him....." he then encited all the others at group to voice the same thought, the charge nurse had to end group. I'm sure it happens often, but it was alittle frightening on our 1st day. We have become very secure in the knowledge that most patients just love the extra care and attention we shower on them & the thought that we may not be as accepted on the psych ward really deflated me.
  7. :imbar Today was my first day of a three week rotation in psych, I left the floor feeling stressed out,& emotionally tired. I am normally very good at communicating with my patients, but today I just froze, any advice would be greatly appreciated.
