  1. It's been years since I haven't logged to the site. Recently I needed some information and when I logged my account I saw all the messages. I don't know what your status is and if you need any information regarding nuclei and nursing in the states I'll be happy to answer. I hope you passed and working in the states.
  2. Is the credentialing evaluation companies, evaluation is it different than each other. What is their base calculation when they compare with College credits in The States, do they evaluate credits differently? Thank you anyone..
  3. I'm a Turkish nurse who lives and work as an RN in The States. As a Turkish nurse with Turkish and USA experience I would suggest you to think twice before you go to work in Turkey. The only good think to be nurse in Turkey it's very easy once you graduate from a nursing school you can work as a nurse anywhere you are accepted. There is no licensure for nursing. Which lower the quality care. There is no job security unless you sign a contract which they don't usually apply for nurses. The pay is low and if you work overtime you get normal pay and not overtime pay, the cost of living is high specially if you think to live in Istanbul. There are not many policy, procedures and regulation or nursing standards. Some private hospitals have some standards but not high as Europe or The States. Also you are not protected by law against discrimination if you are over 30 years old you might not even get hired.
  4. Hi Cineva, I'm a Romania'an graduate and I'm working as an RN here in NY as well. Congratulations on your succes definitelly it's not easy. Totally different system and approach. I was wondering if you tried to go back school here?
  5. I already have my adn and would like to get my bsn which are the classes that I can take to graduate with BSN degree? Thank you

  8. Hi Cristina Nicora, I'm Romanian graduates and I'm already working as an RN and now I'm planning to continue my education like you I was wondering how many of your credits did the school here accepted? Is it better to to apply for a bridge program or get my BSN first? Thank you
  9. Oh I see thank you and good luck to you zazutza..
  10. Oh sorry to hear that. I passed my boards years ago and I work as Endo RN in NY, I passed the exam after my second time you can make it is not hard to pass it. I wanted to go back for NP but I didn't know where to start and where to apply. After you answered me I called some schools that they have online classes they wanted me to get my transcripts sent first they didn't mentioned no acceptance. Good luck with your coming board exam.
  11. Hi, Oh really, I can't believe they won't accept our credits, how do you know that nursing schools will not take any of our credits? To go back from screch this is insane. For which board are you appliying? It's good that you started working in er that is going to be a good refrence in case you get a nurse job.
  12. Hi Zazuta Thank you so much for reply. I acctually had my credentials verified by cgfns but they never told me what they told you... When did you graduate from Romania? If you were able to pass the nclex? I would like to transfer my credits to a nursing school here are they accepting to transfer credits?
  13. Hi Zazutza, thank you for reply, how did you find out that is associates degree? Would you adviced me how to process?
  14. Hi Cristina, I'm Romania too and I graduated form "Scoala post lieceala Secundara" in Bucharest. I live in NY and I'm going to study here as well. I was wondering what is the equivalency our degree from Romania in the USA. How did you enroll to such a programm would you advice? Thank you...
  15. You can check other forums that you can find answers and advises about online courses. I didn't want to take online courses because I wanted to have somebody who can answer my questions right away, you know we don't have experience in our countries about online education so I didn't want to risk myself. And also the exam it is not cheap. So I just wanted to pass. I did some search and at the end I reached the conclusion that the best way for me is to go to course. Which state are you going to apply?
  16. Hi Beyza I can understand you, it is really hard to be full time mom. I wish you can pass this test like me. You are right about pharmacology I had problem too. Unfortunately there are a lot of questions with pharmacology and are different than our country. I don't want to discourage you but nothing is impossible. Actually I don't know the difference between those two when I went for this course I contacted them through email that and I explained to them that I am foreign graduated and I want to take their preparation program for NCLEX-RN and then they submitted me the course dates with schedule of total program. So I chose one course that was closed to my house which was in one of the community college in my area. This is my whole experience with Kaplan. I wish it would help you. Best of Luck and kolay gelsin.
  17. Hi Ulku I'm from Turkey too and I passed the nclex-rn last year. I couldn't pass first time but I did pass second time. You need to study regularly and to have a study program daily at least 4-5 hours a day. Otherwise it can be very difficult to pass it. When I tried first time I used to study from books like mosby. lipincott, saunders. But I failed. Then I applied for Kaplan comprehensive course. After that I passed. They are very strategic and they teach you how to manage to find the right answer. If you need more information you can ask me. I wish you best of luck.
  18. Hi Ro67 I'm so sorry to hear that you need sponsorship because these days as you mentioned it's very difficult to find such kind of help. But at least you have been contacted from hospitals and I'm sure you will find one to sponsor you. Don't give up. You worked hard to pass those exams. I have an advise to you if can't find any sponsor you can apply to USA army and you can be a part of army and you can get citizenship after three months. If you are interested you can find more information on their web site. Good luck. You didn't mentioned which state license you have? My case is different unfortunately having green card and NY-RN license with 3 years medical surgical experience haven't helped me and I couldn't find any hospital to even call me for an interview. I applied even for nursing homes nothing came up. I really got desperate and hopeless. Maybe because I'm in NY I don't know what else to say I have no other explanation than that.
  19. Hi Ro67 I am so glad to see people from my country. We are few right now but I hope in the future we can reach a higher number. I'm so sorry to hear the same problem as mine. I passed my NCLEX last november and since then I couldn't find any job in entire NY State . So you don't have to be desperate you still new in looking for jobs. I got answers from hospitals even after 2 months that I'm not qualified for positions. As you mentioned my experience it's not recognized even with my previous experience in our country. By the way in which state are residing? What is your status? I would like to know more about you. Have you tried recruiting companies to find a job?
  20. Buna Carmen Thank you for your support but this bill it's not helping right now maybe in about next 2-3 years it will be a great opportunity for health care providers. I don't want to discourage you by giving you this information but this is the situation right now. I agree for all what you've said about nursing homes and per diem but unfortunately I have no other choice than to find a job to survive. I even applied to other states license NJ and CT. I have to say that I am impressed by your courage and to be able to start all over from the beginning in another country. Actually it took me a little longer to get my verification in NY because I wasn't aware the fact in CA that you don't need to pass by Education Department CGFNS examination and IELTS. For me it took approximately 2,5 year to be able to sit for NCLEX-RN. I had studied like 1 year 5 hours per day 4-5 days a week. I had studied at that time from library's books preparation for NCLEX-RN but it didn't helped. So I failed and I heard about Kaplan Course for NCLEX-RN it was very helpful it was focusing on strategic than theoretic you know we used to study theoretically that strategically. So for me Kaplan was the solution. Maybe for you studying from books will be enough because you have UK experience so this might be helpful while you studying. Carmen I would like to know how is to be a nurse in UK and how you can work as a Romanian Nurse in UK what are the requirements to be able to work as an RN in UK? Salutari
  21. I am so sorry to hear all of that. I passed my NCLEX-RN last November. I failed first but thanks God I passed second time. Since that day I am looking for a job and I couldn't find any in NY. Unfortunately economic crisis effected even the health care system. Many hospitals aren't hiring anymore and hospitals are going bankrupt. So the market is terrible right now. I applied nursing homes per diem, positions almost like 55 hospitals in all NY States and most of them told me that I'm not qualified and some of them that even answered back. They don't consider my experience from my country. Right now I'm kind of desperate not been able to find a job. You can write me any time. I wish everything will be better for you. I wish you best of luck.
  22. Would you please send me school's name in NY that don't require GRE. Thank you
  23. Anybody can help to understand. What is the differences between ASN-RN and BSN-RN and if there any salary differences?
  24. ablez76 replied to Chasity Bell's topic in LPN to RN
Does anyone knows what is the equivalency of three years European nursing degree here in the states? and if I can apply to any MSN program here in the States?
  25. Hi Chealsea I just got an opportunity to see your attachment about schools that are not requiring GRE. But I apologize that I couldn't been able to read your hand writing. Would you please send another list or post on the forum. Thank you.
