Charity NAC II
Hi thanks crescentcity girl..I tried tutoring through CASN my first time in NACII and the student that was there tutoring was more interested in talking about her problems than actually tutoring and I haven't bothered trying this semester. I was looking for something maybe a couple of times a week to reinforce what I'm learning and studying on my own. You know those charity questions are special kind of questions and going through the NCLEX book all the time just add up to the way they question you. But I might swing by CASN monday afternoon and give it another shot. Thanks

Senior level attrition rates
This happened to me at my local ADN program. Im not saying I have been brilliant throughout nursing school, but I have had a mixture of final grades being B's and C's and have never really struggled any of my semesters, but my senior semester Fall '07 came out of nowhere more than 60 students failed not including the 30 or so that dropped mid way in a class of 156. How did we make it all the way to senior semester and not make it through? The when January arrived there weren't enough spots for the returning students including myself so we all had to wait until this Fall. I don't know what is going on at this particular Nursing program in New Orleans. Its really devastating when you put your all in and its not exactly a walk in the park to try and transfer to another program your senior semester.

Hey are there any former charity nursing students or nursing teachers that offer tutoring? Or does anyone know of any nursing tutors? Thanks a bunch I'm a NACII student I did really well on the first exam but I'm also a repeat NACII student trying to try things differently this time.

Need Excelsior Clarification
Hi can anyone give me info or advice about pursuing excelsior. I have completed 3 semesters of nursing school the traditional way successfully and just finished my senior semester not successfully and I'm just extremely disappointed/heartbroken and at this point to afraid to go back next semester. I heard about excelsior and I'm kind of confused by all the info I've been reading. Can anyone break it down to me apporximately how long would it take to complete each exam if you've have already gone so far in school and have completed 100% of clinicals. Thanks in advance

Dosage Calculations
Hi can anyone help have an upcoming exam and I'm practicing problems according to my schools study guide that was posted. I've been able to work out all of them except this one even though I think this requires the same formula. The IV is infusing at 20ml/hr and contains 50mg. Nipride in 250ml D5W. The client weighs 185lbs. ___kgs. (tenth) ___mcg/kg/min to (tenth). I've worked the kgs to 84.1 but can't seem to figure the other half. Thanks in advance for your help..

I need advice Charity NAC II
I'm in the same boat I'm on my way to study group now, I've been reading, studying, practicing NCLEX questions, even though the ones in the Saunders book seem a lot easier than the ones on our exams. Stay prayerful I know I am and know you're not alone we're all gonna get through this challenge. That's how I'm looking at is a challenge in my life that I'm capable of overcoming. Best of luck to you and I'll continue to pray for our entire class because I know how hard some of us have worked to get where we are. God Bless

Frustrated - Need Study Advice!
Yeah all that's true the first 2exam averages for the entire class was a 76 overall, but that was after 8 points had been give for each exam do to questions being thrown out. Can you imagine what the class avg would have been w/o th extra 8 points on each exam. I have some friends that graduated last semester and its true about some exams going around and some girl had them but still failed so she went to the head of NACII and started naming people so part of the class last semester had to retake the final and others didn't so it was a big ole thing b/c some retakers didn't past the 2nd time around. So everyone in our class feels as though we're reaping the benifits of idiots, and its so unfair. Oh by the way I have gone to the retention lady and she was extremely nice, but was so busy with appts that day with other NACII students coming she didn't really have lots of time for me, but I've taken the advice she's given me and we'll see. I even went so far as to put a note under the door of the head of NACII and requested that she allows the retention lady teach a test taking lecture one day after one of the regularly scheduled lecture before our next exam but it hasn't happened yet so I doubt that it will. I also went to the head of NACI b/c when I was in that level there was a professional that came in and lectured on test taking skill one saturday morning at school and I remember it being packed in the gym for it and afterwards they posted her powerpoint presentation on blackboard but seems as though that didn't take off either. So I've gone to every avenue I can think of. I've heard in my study group yesterday that the reason class was empty thurs and fri is b/c lots of people are so fed up that they have dropped and are doing excelsior now. Not sure how true that is but I know for sure half the class just about was missing thursday and friday was the same way. I'm kinda thinking at this point they would love to have a graduating class of 20....

I need advice Charity NAC II
Hi, I'm in NACII also how have you been making out this semester now that we've got a couple of test under our belt? The one thing I make sure I do to keep up with all the info is read everyday.... for at minimum 2-3hrs. Do you know if there are any SAC tutors this semester. I haven't had any luck when I go to check it out. I never see anyone down there.

Don't worry to much about the parking there are plenty of lots around there to park in. I usually use St. Josephs Church its the cheapest at 3.00 and you can walk on the street to get to the building or the overhead walkway that's over looking the street either way it goes that'll be your best bet, everything else is on avg 5.00. Hope this helps.

Frustrated - Need Study Advice!
Oh yeah, Jemommy by the way I am a NACII student, and that's part of the frustration at the career day friday my old Basics teacher and one of the Mental Health instructors started talking to my friends and I saying how they heard what was going on with NACII, I've been at the library and have seen 3rd level student and they look at us and say how sorry they feel for NACII because they've heard what's going. OMG...I'm just I think in a state of shock this semester. I've never had problems like this in either of the previous semeters and I'm sure you know how tough it can be.
