  1. I believe that Ready to Pass (www.readytopass.com) does work with LPNs as well as RNs. I took their online review back in September and passed my NCLEX shortly after. Good luck!!
  2. if i understand you correctly, you are planning on taking the nclex in california thus becoming licensed in that state as well - you want to know if once you pass your california state boards if they have reciprocity in illinois (chicago)?? the best way to find out is to go directly to the state board for the individual state you are inquiring about (for example - illinois state nursing boards would be able to tell you wat the qualifications are to practice in that state to include reciprocity) hope that helps answer your question or at least point you in the right direction.
  3. First off, CONGRATULATIONS!! Making a positive out of a potential negative is the first step to accepting & moving passed whatever obstacle comes your way. Believe that everything happens for a reason and that this is not necessarily a bad thing. I can certainly relate to the anxiety of telling your mother. I was not married when I had my first child and thought my world would come crashing down. SURPRISE, it didn't. My mother was not happy about the news at first but 14 years later she can't imagine her life without her grandchildren (two years later I married my husband, we have two more children and my mother couldn't be happier). I did put college on the back burner to raise my kids but never lost sight of my dream to one day be an RN. It took me a while but here I am today and I'm sure you will be there one day as well! THINK POSITIVE, embrase your new status of mom-to-be and follow your dreams. Having children is not a roadblock nearly a bump along the way which makes our lives that much better. Keep in mind that you have 8 more months to deal with the pregnancy but only a few weeks before you take the NCLEX - put your FOCUS ON YOUR EXAM and don't worry about anything else right now. I hope this helps you and I wish you the best of luck!!
  4. you're not doing anything "wrong" - keep a positive attitude and the rest will fall into place. i too failed my boards 2x before finally passing. i studied until i couldn't study any more each time - i took the kaplan review through my school - used saunders - i did take an online review w/individual tutoring (www.readytopass.com) which was probably the best thing i did for myself, it really helped. but the only thing that will help you pass is you!! stay focused, believe in yourself and i'm sure you will one day be an rn like me!! good luck!!
  5. Pimpin? Just trying to help out. I haven't tried Suzanne's plan but I hear good things. Good luck to you.
  6. I took Kaplan as part of my nursing program and failed 2X after that. I'm sure it had more to do with me then them but all the same, I didn't pass. After searching the web for something that could help, I enrolled in the Ready To Pass online review course (www.readytopass.com) and I PASSED!! It worked for me, who knows....maybe it could work for you too!! Good luck!
  7. I too failed my NCLEX 2X before finally passing. I have sent this info in many posts and stand by it - I took an online review class with Ready To Pass (www.readytopass.com) - it was the only thing that helped me. There is a live tutor that helps you through and really makes sense. Hope this helps. Stay positive, study hard and the rest will fall into place!! Good luck!
  8. Have you ever considered a review class? I took the Ready To Pass online review (www.readytopass.com) - that's what helped me. Don't get frustrated, stay postive and the rest will fall into place. Good luck to you.
  9. Hello all - I noticed that several of you have failed the NCLEX on your first (or perhaps 2nd, 3rd, whatever) time and I wanted to share with you what helped me. I have responded to several threads in the past and thought I would post the information for all to see. I took my NCLEX 2X (failed) before I finally passed . I took an online review course by Ready To Pass (www.readytopass.com) - it was like having my own private tutor. They gave me a manual that was written in easy to follow format and the live tutoring was just what I needed. I highly recommend you all check it out. It was the one thing that really helped me out and look at me now....I'm an RN!!!!! Hope this helps some of you out there. I know how frustrated I was when I failed so I can relate. Good luck to you all!!
  10. WAY TO GO!!!!! :balloons: CONGRATS ON A JOB WELL DONE!! :balloons: :yelclap::yelclap::yelclap::yelclap:
  11. Keep in mind that you are not alone - I failed my NCLEX 2X before I finally passed and remember how disappointed I was BUT had I given up, I would not be an RN today! Don't sweat the small stuff. You are obviously an intelligent individual (afterall, you did pass nursing school) so it is just a matter of time before you pass the NCLEX as well. Keep a positive attitude and you will see results. Take a deep breath, focus on the results you want, study, study some more and study even more. I know you can do it - believe that you can too!! Good luck!
  12. Diahni - Like I said in my previous thread, I took an online review with Ready To Pass (www.readytopass.com) - they really went over exactly what was on the test without the over kill. I felt that I could focus my studies on what I needed to rather than generalization - they also did a lot of repetition which I think helped me get it !! The tutoring helped me ask specific questions so that I could move pass the things that I already had a grasp on and focus on what my "problem" areas were. My best advice to anyone taking the test is to believe you can do it & study!!
  13. A positive attitude is the first step in passing the NCLEX so Congrats on that!! I took an online review class (after failing my NCLEX 2X) with ReadyToPass.com and also got private tutoring from them. It was the only thing that helped - almost like a light bulb went off after working with them!! They also have a book with comprehensive practice questions (I think I paid like $20). Worth every penny!! The only thing that will get you to pass is you - so study, study some more and study even more!! Good luck to you!
  14. I too am a repeat test taker so I hope it helps you to know that you are not alone. I failed 2X before finally passing - WOO HOO!! I took an online review class from readytopass.com and also followed up with them for private tutoring (done conference style over the phone). I think if it wasn't for Ready To Pass I would still be an LPN. Keep in mind that the only thing that will help you pass is YOU! Study, study some more & study even more! Have confidence and the rest will fall into place. Best of luck to you!!
  15. I just passed my NCLEX after two previous attempts - the only thing that helped was an online review class given by Ready To Pass (www.readytopass.com). I also contacted them and got individual tutoring over the phone which put me on the right path. But keep in mind, the only thing that will get you to pass is you....STUDY, STUDY some more and STUDY even more!! Good luck!!
  16. I am a firm believer in what you think about you bring about!! Have a positive outlook on passing the test and the rest will fall into place. I took the NCLEX 2X before I finally passed. I remember how frustrated I was when I failed so I can relate but the only thing that will help you pass is you! Have you ever considered private tutoring or a review class to help you out?? Be confident and STUDY YOUR HEART OUT!!!!!
