  1. I used all those books too plus Delmar and Davis. I used there cd's to which were helpful because it gave you random exams on all of the material.I passed my Boards the 1st time I tried. Good Luck!
  2. Ive been looking around for about a month know and its anywhere from $16-$25 an hour. The low side being hospital and the high range being a nursing home.
  3. 3 weeks 6 days in California. Oh ya and when you get the form to request your license pay right away. Called BVNPT and they said 1-1/2wk to process the check and clear your name for license then another 1-1/2wk to get you a # and then 3-4days to get it mailed out to you. So your looking at waiting another 3wks 4 days for our license#. That sucks!
  4. Hey I took my test in August in California and it took 3 weeks & 6 days. Thats better than 4-6weeks. Good luck, you probably did fine.:balloons:
  5. When I did clinicals LVNs worked in post partum but not L&D.
  6. In california you can take the IV phlebotomy class but cannot be certified till you have a license. The facility im going to will allow you to take the class but will not issue the certification till you have actual license.
  7. Hey are you taking NCLEX in California? Seriously I think you should use a review book 1st and then try the practice questions. Once you can master retaining vital information then move onto the Questions. Also always think airway and safety. Those are big ones on the test. Good Luck and if you need anymore advise just hit me up.
  8. I used lippincott review, delmar, nursing incredibly easy by lippincott, Saunders, straight A's in pharmacology by lippincott and Davis review. I seriously studied like 4-5hrs a day for 2 months before my exam. Maybe you should take a review course. I did that too. Good luck!
  9. Thanks TheCommuter! I think its awesome that you always congratulate all of the new nurses. Its nice to know there are people out there who are so encouraging.
  10. Yay I got my pass letter today in california. 3 weeks & 6 days after i took the exam. Best of luck to all of you still waiting!
  11. i just got my results today. it took 3 weeks and 6 days for good ol' california results! now its time to get a job! :lol2::lol2::lol2::lol2:
  12. Hey i feel your pain about waiting. Today is day #24 since i took the test in August and still no results. California has to do something about getting results out faster! Take care and good luck!
  13. Charlatan is one who is a pretender of special knowledge of medicine. Von willibrands disease?

  15. Kernicterus is when bilirubin infiltrates into the brain and spinal cord of the newborn usually with erythroblastosis fetalis
  16. I think what your feeling is very normal. Dont be shocked that when your done taking the test you feel like you failed because at least 95% of do and usually most have actually passed. Good Luck!
  17. This was my class last year and finally the last 3 months everyone came together. I think because by the last 3 months all that was left was the serious mature students and all the drama failed out in the terms before. Good luck & stay positive!
  18. i say try to stick it out because out in california we wait on list for 2 years to get in to a rn program. the commuter is right in saying that politics are everywhere. in school and on the unit there was always something going on. nobody is perfect and even the don's of nursing school make poor choices sometimes. if you really want to be a rn go for it and focus on yourself and achieve all that you can. once you get passed the intial chaos it will calm down a little and you will be better adjusted to the day to day life as a student & be able to cope with everyday life. take care and good luck
  19. The testicles dont actually have to be in Abdominal cavity they can be anywhere near like suprapubic area. The problem is they dont descend into the scrotum. There is an 18 month time span to correct the issue other wise the testicle cannot survive the hot temp. My son had his surgery at 17 1/2 months . He has 5 scars from it 3 on the Abd, 1 mid suprapubic area and one big one down his left scrotum. Kids are resilient he bounced right back with in a day or 2.
  20. all of you who get your results in 48hrs are soooooooooo lucky! ive been waiting for 19 days so far. hopefully ill have my results by the 21st day. cross your fingers for me. :balloons:congrats to all that have passed :balloons:
  21. Nursing has changed me in alot of ways one being able to say i strived for a goal and i reached it even with all of the bumps in the road. I also feel better as a person because i am actually proud of myself and i worked so hard to be where i am today.
  22. A prominence or projection of bone on the palm of the hand or sole of the feet. Cryptorchidism (I know this one well because my baby had surgery for it)
  23. IN Texas you can give IVPB and IV push of antibiotics? Hmm what is the difference between the california liceanse and Texas liceanse?
  24. Just realized my title has liceanse spelled wrong. OOP's!
  25. Just curious if California post liceanse #'s and names asap or will it show up once you pay for your actual liceanse?
