loisane, I start nurse anesthesia school in scranton,pa in aug and i just wanted you to know that the program requires us to read the book before we start in aug, i did not start it yet but i look forward to reading it nec :)

Can i ask one question? why does our profession differenciate "a male nurse" from everyother nurse? doctor or lawyers do not say a female attorney or a female doctor or vis versa, so can i reiterate my point, a nurse is a nurse is a nurse whether male, female or both so please start from within our profession to educate nurses and the public to stop using the term male nurse thank you nec

srnakate Most of all be yourself, dress professional and conservative, face it you will be anxious and nervous but don't worry everyone will be in the same boat you are, as for having children, some of my answers to questions were about my children, during my interview, i start school in August, I have two girls with one on the way and i am lucky to have a very supportive wife and family. good luck on you interviews remember be yourself, try to stand out (be different from others) add humor if you can see ya nec :chuckle :rotfl: :)

Hi, welcome to the board, you seem very motivated, as most of us who are working towards a goal of becoming a crna. I have been a nurse for six years ranging from telemtry to Sicu, Cticu, anyway I just want you to realize it might take time before you get accepted apply for next year you certainly sound like you have what it takes but if you get turned down do not let it bother you just come back so you face and work on getting ccrn if you can hopefully you will get in on your first shot best of luck nec :)

I am also starting in Aug of this year, I am giving my NM my two weeks notice on the 14th of this month I am going to enjoy the summer off with my family, and also get used to being broke, good luck and relax now while you can nec :)

If you think about it you will probably talk yourself out of it I was going to do an online program but like the idea of still being in a classroom i finished my bsn in 2.5 years, I am now 26 I work full time along with my wife and i will be starting anesthesia school in the fall, plus two kids, so don't worry if you want something bad enough it is do-able believe me just set goals and get it done know good luck let me know what turns out nec

Hi am also starting school in a few months, I have been in the current hosp Icu for almost three years and i could tell you first hand if i had to do it over again i would not tell anyone what my plans are, my manager is cold to begin with and all the nurse that are in her click that have been there for twenty years are the same way they look down on you and talk about you i think it is all jealousy though i have to admit it is very frustrating workking with people like that, in my you they would limit the number of open heart patients that i was allowed to take care of it is all petty and controlling but i look at it as a small kink in my long term goals, i am counting down my days until I start school and I cannot wait good luck nec

Reapply, Reapply, Reapply - do not give up, if it is your dream then stick to it show them how much you want it, move to an icu if you can take a few classes on the side or some master credits at that school you are appling to any nusing courses, you should be able to transfer at least six graduate credits from one school to another if they see you getting A's in a graduate research class they will see your motivation but like said do not give up if it is your dream and another it is very hard to get through the admission doors, i heard a statistic i don't know how true, from a CRNA professor, it is harder getting into school than getting thru it I guess i could see the wisdom once your in you will not let anything stop you good luck nec

This will make you look better on paper and show the school you have the ability to handle graduate school i feel it will work very well in your favor. They will be impressed with you backround good luck with your career and education nec

Tia i am starting a program in pa in the summer, when i dropped of a deposit for school earlier this month i was talking to a professor and we were telling each other about our christmas, and her last words were i hope you enjoyed it with you family this year!! meaning for the next two years i won't be enjoying, so i decided to relax and spend as much time with my family now b/c i will have to sacrafice over next two years good luck nec:) :)

don't wory about it sure you will be nervous i certainlly was but just be yourself and clearly think through every answer before it comes out of your mouth believe me some of my answers from my interview were fine in my thoughts but when they came out i did not feel sure of myself you will do fine good luck, nec:) :) :)

just wanted to give you some advice, become a CCRN if you are not already, most of all do not give up, reapply next year to the same school, I was not accepted last year and i applied this year and got in so persue your dream and good luck nec
