Human Anatomy / A&P I Club for Fall 2007
All this class does is bring your GPA down. All the nurses I work with always tell me that these two sequence of classes are crap. Same with the chemistry. But Its the road we all must take to get into the nursing program. Don't get me wrong I love learning about the human body......BUTT......at my own pace. I hate pressure in this class. Such crap.

Adelphi accelerated BSN tuition and options to work
So how rough was the 15 month program at Adelphi? I don't care about the work load, the only thing I care about is being able to work my three days a week in the evening. I know its doable because there are some nurses that I know that had a family and worked full time in the accelerated bsn. But everyone is different. SO my dear, how was it? :rotfl:

Tattoos?
I have a tattoo on my wrist of two crescent moons facing one another or as I like to call the "a perfect circle" symbol. My patients all love it. They tell me that it's cute and always ask what it means. I guess because its not a large tattoo that it is not so offending. As usual it depends on the tattoo. If you take care of your patients well, they will view you as a great nurse no matter what ink you have on your skin. Guys, get inked, but not over-inked. Tattoo's are an expression of one's personal interests character and disposition. I love them. Dan

I called up Adelphi's Nursing office and the person who I spoke to told me that their accelerated program was a little over 15 months. I see on a few posts her that the accelerated program at Adelphi is about 2 and a half years. What is the real length of Adelphi's accelerated program?!?!?! Somebody fill me with the right answer. THANK YOU!!!

Curious female here! :)
Nursing is a sort of a first choice of career for me. I actually started taking heavy science courses to get into veterinary school but I started working as a nurse's aide and I fell in love with nursing. I lucked out because most of the science pre-reqs that I needed to get into the Nursing program were already done. I love animals and always wanted to help them, but I think sub-unconsciously I realized I could never put an animal down. A puppy or kitten can't tell you "Hey I feel pain here!" like a human can. I have ultra respect to all veterinarians out there because they have one of the hardest jobs in the medical field. But anyway, Nursing is just for me and will always be forever. And at the Ripe old age of 20 I think I made the right choice. PS..... It's not for the money either. I get a natural high from making my patients laugh or getting them out of bed when they feel down. For people who are going into nursing for the money, I would not want you taking care of my family. Please realize nursing is customer service, just like retail. You must please people and take their bullshit, but it should also make you happy. A true nurse, like the ones who I work with(25 plus years in) will have a natural knack for people and will get a natural euphoria from getting them well and sending them home. Please think about that before entering nursing 101. Good luck to all!!!! :0
