  1. Thank you all for good advices. I still have a question. If the person in my situation goes to the interviews to other hospitals and don't even mention this job how new employer can find out if I ever worked. I think in my case it will much better just to say that I still a new grad and looking for the first job. Why not? Of course I will try to do my best to improve or ask for the transfer but I have a feeling they won't let me do that.
  2. Dear Nurses, If someone can give me an advice I will really apriciate it. Thats what happened: I graduated from college in January and this is my 1st job. 2 days ago my managers invited me for a tolk and said that my probation period is almost over (thats 6 months) and they think I am not ajusting very well to this job, that I am not good enogh. They also said that they will extend my probation for one more month and then if Iwill not improve (and I probably will not) they will know that I am not suitable for this institution. I can't say enogh how frustrated, sad, and confused I am. I was one of the best students, never in my life I worked so hard(and I am 35), most of the time I go through my 13 hours without eating anything or going to the bathroom because there is not enogh time. But all this is not what bothers me the most. I feel I have to look for another job asap. What should I say on my resume? Should I mention this job - it was 6 months already that I worked as RN and I am not fired yet; or should I send my resume as a new graduate and don't mention this position???? Can new manager in a new hospital track my experience down? Do they have rights to give bad referance about me? Please someone help me! I am really lost... PS. I never did big mistakes: like giving wrong drug etc.
  3. Dear Jessi78, thank you so much for your reply. Can I ask you more? This friend of yours - did she have only NICU experience or before that worked in other units? What do you like or not like about Columbia CRNA program? And what do you know about SUNY Downstate program - which one is better and why you think so? Another question - do you know what are the salaries for CRNAs in New York and Nassau county? Do you get any salary during your residency (2nd year of school) and how much? (Financial side is important, isn't it?) How is the job market? I have so much yo ask, I don't know any CRNAs personally, so you are my only sourse. I am graduating from the BSN program next month and constantly thinking what unit to choose for the job Thanks a lot!
  4. Hi everyone, I have a question to somebody who is studing at Columbia CRNA or got accepted. I asked them over the phone about NICU experience and they said that they would accept it. I juist wanted to ask how true it is in real world? Also what GRE score will be acceptable? And in general how hard it was to get in? Thanks a lot
  5. Hi everyone, I am new to the forum and hope someone will be able to help with my questions. 1. I got accepted to Adelphi University accelerated nursing program recently and I really like this place and wish to study there but tuition simse to me SO high! It is 505$ per credit, so having 70 credits it will cost me around 40K. Does anybody have experience with this particular college and know how people usualy cope with tuition cost. 2. I heard that many nursing students work. Could you advice me what kind of job is possible, what is the pay in LI region, is it possible to get tuition reimbursemnt through the hospital and if yes what hospitals you could recommend? Any advice will be apriciated. Thanks.
