  1. It sounds like a much better situation for you!
  2. It sounds like he's a perv!
  3. There is one big downside that must be evaluated. If this patient would have gone to L&D with a threatened AB, is it really good for her to listen to babies crying all day and night?
  4. It sounds like it was a good move!
  5. People usually just test in one state and then apply for license reciprocation in other states.
  6. Congrats!!
  7. Acute heart failure following a multiples delivery isn't common, but it does happen due to the extra blood volume required. It is rather easy to remedy and should not be blown out of proportion assuming that the mother is otherwise healthy. But this is not to say that I agree with implanting 6 embryos. Just because the technology is there, doesn't mean that we should use it. Maybe we shouldn't implant 6 embryos until we can assure that medical technology can adequately care for 22 weekers AND provide acceptable outcomes.
  8. Another downside of being an MD is that when you choose a specialty, you are pretty well stuck in it unless you go back to school for more training for board certification. In nursing, you are free to change areas at will. Sure, you may have an orientation period. But if you are in OB and choose to go to ICU, you can. If you are in rehab and want to be in public health, you can. (Etc, etc)
  9. We will occasionally allow parents to come in with ped patients after the child is stable. But usually when they are awake enough to be screaming, they are DC'd from our PACU. Otherwise, we don't allow visitors.
  10. I am a PACU nurse and our dept changed the policy about a year ago. We now give 12.5 mg instead of 25 mg and it's diluted to 25 mg/10 ml concentration. Additionally, I always give it in a distal port with IV fluids wide open. But over 15 mins??? Not me.
  11. I can only tell you that from my NCLEX exam eight years ago, I had 75 questions and I passed. Good luck to you!
  12. I always wear Dockers and a button-down shirt with loafers. Yes, it's a bit conservative but that's how I dress. Now how I ACT is another story....hehe!
