Is it okay to take NCLEX for 2 different states?
Hi! I applied for licensure at New Mexico BON some months back. It took a while before they informed me I could register at Pearsonvue for my ATT. In the months that ensued my application, i could not get in touch with NMBON because nobody would entertain my calls and e-mails. Because of this, I applied for licensure at another state. Question: I have now received confirmation to take the test from both the state board of nursing i applied to. Is it alright if I take both exams, and if i were to pass them, be licensed in both states? Or should I only be licensed in one state? Will this create a problem for me in the US embassy? Thank you!

Do I need to wait for BON's go-signal before I can register for pearsonvue?
That is a good point. :) Thanks!

Do I need to wait for BON's go-signal before I can register for pearsonvue?
Thank you so much for the advice Ms. Suzanne. I'll ask the bank whether the check issued NM BON has already been encashed. I have e-mailed NM BON inquiring the status of my application but have yet to receive any reply. In my previous calls to NM BON, I was always redirected to an answering machine and the messages I left went unanswered even though I left them my e-mail address and my phone number, which is why I'm a bit hesitant to call them again. I am concerned that perhaps they have found me ineligible for licensure and I am waiting for nothing because I do not know status of my application. If an application is approved or denied by a BON, will the applicant be informed by the BON about it?

Do I need to wait for BON's go-signal before I can register for pearsonvue?
Hi! I hope you can help me with this. :nuke: I have submitted an application to NM BON some 3 months back because I heard they process applications the fastest there. However up until today, I have not received confirmation that they received any of my papers. My question is, do I need to register at pearsonvue first before I can determine status of my application and acquire ATT from BON, or do I need to wait for NM BON to give me the go signal before I can register at pearsonvue? Until now I have not received news from NM BON that they received any of my documents which they require from applicants. I am starting to become a bit anxious that perhaps there is something I am not doing right? I would like to express my thanks in advance to all those who can take time to read this thread.

Re: Questions about passport signature for NCLEX in hong kong
Hi! i really hope you can help me with this. I heard there have been people who were not allowed to take the NCLEX exam because they don't have signatures on their passport. My passport signature contains only the initials of my first and middle names and then the whole of my last name. I'm also not sure if it is legible enough but that is how I sign my signature. My question is, is it alright to present this form of identification? It says in the NCLEX bulletin that signature in the identification must be in ENglish character. My signature looks chaotic so I'm not sure if they think they're in English character. :icon_cheesygrin: Are there people out there who've already taken the NCLEX who can share their experience about id identification and the likes when they took the exam? How was it? Is it ok to present driver's license instead of passport? I would greatly appreciate it if you could explain about the whole process that takes place before they let you take the exam. THAnks! I really need your help!

New Jersey or New Mexico?
Hi! Thanks for the encouragement! To Rnsmith In this time period, why did it take you so long for you to apply for NJ BON? Can we not apply for CES and NJ at the same time? You see I already have my CGFNS certificate. The reason I took them in the first place is because it was a requirement before by NJ BON. But now because CGFNS is no longer needed, I now have to apply for CES(?). So then I pay double. I already paid so much to take the CG but they keep changing the requirements for New JErsey. Aside from the the expenses for taking NCLEX in hong kong, I have to worry about the application fee for NJ because it has increased stiffly from $140-220. It's so frustrating. That's why I thought maybe I should apply to NM instead because application is easy then just have it endorsed to NJ. *sigh* I don't know what to do anymore. It's so frustrating. I meet one dead end after another. It's so emotionally taxing. I don't feel like taking the NCLEX anymore.

New Jersey or New Mexico?
i hope you can help me with this. i'm planning to apply to new mexico for licensure, but new jersey is where i really want to work. i thought initially that it would be alright for me to apply for new mexico then have it endorsed to nj later, like what i read in other threads, in case i passed the nclex. or since nj is a signatory to the nurse licensure compact, but has yet to implement it, i thought maybe nm license holders can also practice in new jersey by the time the state implements this. but i just read in another thread (from the new mexico licensure exam) this message from suzanne. :uhoh21: this really concerns me because i don't live in the us, so even if i pass i wont qualify for compact state license. i also read in another thread that even if you can endorse to another state, it takes a while too, maybe even longer than waiting for application to be processed even in states where processing is slow. i don't know how things work in the us, things seem very complicated there. i just wanted to take the nclex so i can apply for a job already and work here in my country, but it seems quickest is not necessarily the best option? do you think its better that i apply for new jersey instead? also, does anyone know how long nj process applications? anyone there who applied for nj bon? i'm really sorry if people have asked this question a million times already. i tried to look for info about nj applications and etc but there are too many threads already, its so confusing and i feel like i have information overload already, not to mention my eyes are now red and my wrists are sore.

Fingerprint card from Cal, valid in New Mexico?
thank you very much, adyam. You are very kind. But you know what, I and my friend, we already have our fingerprint cards. :nuke: Isn't that great news? Cause I talked to my friend today and he said I can download from the fbi website and print them but just make sure I use very hard folder. Because that's what he did when he applied for his NCLEX in Ca. So I bought very hard folders and just used the back, which I cut out so they will have the same size as a short bondpaper. Then I printed them out back to back. And when my friend and I went to the NBI, they actually accepted our fingerprint cards. Although I don't know if the FBI in US will accept them, but I think maybe it's worth a try no? :nuke: But thank you, thank you. I feel really lucky because I have friends, and people like you, whom I don't even know who are willing to help me. I have only the deepest respect. Thank you.

Ok, thanks! :nuke: Wow! Wow, thanks! This is very nice of you. :) But they say I need two, and I also checked out in the website I need two. And I need two more for my friend because we agreed to go together, so then I will need four. So maybe you wont have enough fingerprint cards anymore..?

Oh wow! Thanks very much! You really helped me out. I can't go to US embassy because I live in the province but my mother, I think, is scheduled to go to Manila next, next week. Maybe she can get more than 1 fingerprint card, for my friend too? Hehe :) Thanks, everyone!
