  1. Is this a bad thing?
  2. What was everyone's wait time for SCROLL approval?
  3. If you think this is "dirty," wait until you are elbows deep in a Code Brown
  4. This was me each semester. Do not give up. The "real" learning begins when your nursing career takes off . . 2.5 yrs after graduation and, it isn't any easier lol
  5. One can dream . . .
  6. The "best" area to begin in is that which makes you want to clock-in each shift.
  7. Ahh, the good ol' "writing someone up" instead of questioning him/her face-to-face or over the telly . . . Some like the feeling (and power) they get in giving someone the American shaft behind their back.
  8. T.A. affected me as well, extremely affected me. Frozen #2 pencils; unable to circle any answers on the answer key; mind going completely blank; heart palpitations; sweating like a criminal under a heat lamp. Let me know if you want some pointers . . PM me if so.
  9. With being close to earning a B.A./B.S., an accelerated BSN program is your best alternative.
  10. It would benefit you to have an A as your course sent as part of the admissions package; an A would definitely hold "that much more weight."
  11. While I did not read assigned materials from the "required" textbooks, I did study "their" PowerPoint handouts. Studying Saunder's NCLEX-RN review book and the included CD-ROM of test questions is how I passed nursing school.
  12. Mom, I never read a single page in any nursing book from any assigned reading. You learn how to "test" so much better when you just practice NCLEX questions . .
  13. Yes I did Mom. Cardio = red (blood) Pulmonary = blue (color of the sky) GI = green (bile:lol2:) Neuro = yellow (made me think of neurons) Endocrine = orange Urinary/Renal/Reproductive = pink
  14. Where are your clinicals this semester Mom?
  15. How is clinical so far for everyone . .
  16. Nursing school should definitely be considered a full-time job, because it truly will take up the majority of your week. Enjoy it though, it will fly by in an instant. Working as a nurse now is still surreal. It still feels humbling putting on my scrubs and clocking-in. Keep up your studies and never give up on yourself no matter how difficult those exams get. Each semester is more difficult than the next, but the end will always be near, so focus on that point.
  17. Stick it out, it's all worth it in the end . . . A paycheck is a cool incentive as well
  18. The instructors told my group to "Look around the room, because in two years, only half of yous will graduate." They were absolutely correct. 64 (give or take 2-3) of 130 passed the exit HESI examination. All stress aside, nursing school was so much fun.
