West Suburban College Of Nursing
It was about 20,000-21,000/yr when I was in school but I know it went up a little bit after we graduated. I would say it's about 22,000/yr now not including books. I know it sounds kind of high but there are scholarships that you could apply for. Also, there is chancellor's scholarship that you'll automatically get if your gpa is 3.5 or higher. When I was there 10,000/yr if you have 4.0 gpa and 5,000/yr if you have 3.75-3.99. let me know if you have more questions.

West Suburban College Of Nursing
I just grduated from WSCN in 2009, the school is much better now comparing to when I started. They have a new Dean now and she is good. Our NCLEX pass rate is higher now. They went through a lot of transformations. It was hard for students (us) because we were the guinea pigs, but now that things are starting to fall into place it is much better now.

BSN or Graduate Entry...please help??
I just graduated from WSCN and it's not so bad anymore. I wouldn't say this if you ask me this question a year ago, with the new Dean everything is a lot better. The NCLEX pass rate is higher (our class is about 92%, way better than when I started the school which was 78%).

moving to chicago
I live in Oak Park and I think it's a great neighnorhood. Since I'm new to the Chicago myself, I know so much about other places. Just a little info about Oak Park, they have a nice park and BIG library (nice and clean) I go there all the time. The rent is not bad either. You can rent a studio for about $600-800 or rent one bedroom for about 700-1000. Oak Park offer a lot of service for their resident. EX: free CPR class (if you are not a resident of Oak Park you pay $50). Here is the link for Oak Park area. http://www.oak-park.us/

I am in High school. I need info abour becoming and RN
Hi, When you apply to College or University in your senior year, make sure you pick the one that offer nursing program. OR another way of doing it is that you go to community college and do all you prerequisites classes there and then tranfer them to nursing school. This would be the first step that you can do. Just to make this easier for you to understand I give you an example. For example: If I live in California I would apply to San Francisco State University(website is www.sfsu.edu) or I can go directly into city college of San Francisco (www.ccsf.edu) and take classes there and then when you are done with those class then apply to sfsu. In the school website (www.sfsu.edu) it tell you exactly what classes you need to take in order for you to be accepted into the program. If you have any questions you can send me a private message.

How to prep myself for nursing school
Hello, I recently been accepted into nursing school and I was wondering if anyone can offer me an advice regarding nursing classes and school. I have about 4 months to prep myself. What should I expecting from classes. Should I read the material before school start? I have asked many people around me this question I got mix messages. Also, everyone that I know has been telling how hard nursing school and now I'm depress (big time). I'm scare that I won't make it. How hard is it and would it help if I don't work. I don't have any hospital experience, would this hurt me in nursing school. I think going insane with this, I need you advice and help badly.

I'm 17 and I need some advice! please!
I agree with jill48 if you want to be RN dont stop LVN or CNA because it's very tough to come back to school and even if you can get yourself to come back to school you will have retake many classes(bare in mind that most science classes expired 5 years after you have taken them). To me, you sound like you have a solid goal in your life and I think you should pursuit them. If you really want to be RN I think you can do it. This is what I did: I went to community college and take all the prereq course and transfer to nursing school. I'm not too sure if you are from California but if you are most of the state schools have nursing program. The things that you have to be aware of the most is that different schools require different classes. I'd recommend you to first find the school that you want to go to the most and follow their pre req. Also, I want you to be aware that certain classes have pre req, for example: in some school you cannot take microbiology until you have taken chemistry and you cannot take anatomy until you have takee microbiology. Knowing when to take what class is very important when you are community college and don't forget to get good grades because it is a stairway to nursing school.

Crying when stressed/overwhelmed
I can totally relate to you. I'm a cryer too. I feel that if I cry I was able to relieved my stress. If this is how you relieve your stress, I don't see why it would be wrong. I think letting it out is always better than keeping it in. I guess it's just like pressure if you don't let it out sooner or later it's going to explode and that can't be good. I don't think anyone know you better than you know yourself so don't let other people negative comments get to you. As for me, the best way for me to relieve my stress (other than crying) is to talk to my close friend (even though they are in different major), you will always find them very supportive and assertive.

Please don't eat your young.
This topic scare me as I just about to start my nursing school next semester. Are there things that I should do or dont do the alleviate the situation if I come across a nurse who is not as nice. I mean just want to learn and pass the class without feeling crappy experience.
