my scores in question trainer: 1=67% 2=61% 3=66% 4=56% 5=63% 6=63% 7=59% Computer stopped @ 75 and i passed

i took my exam last june 25 at Hongkong..

Kaplan + Saunders = Passing @ 75 I bought the book from the national which costs around 900 pesos. i read it 3 times. Kaplan will teach how the question is being made, so that when you take a review you know how to study. Saunders for practicing analysis type questions which are the passing questions in nclex, and you want the computer to stay on analysis type of question which means you are in the passing level. I used kaplan + saunders compre = Stopped @ 75 and passed

i just wait for the mail. i took my exam june 25, the mail arrived july 15, it took 3 weeks for the wait. there is no website for the result, just wait patiently for the mail.

you will pass the next time!, i took my nclex @ hongkong stopped @75 and i passed. i combined Kaplan and Saunders comprehensive cd which i only bought in front of PRC.. lol. Kaplan books will teach you what type of question you will see in the real exam, and that is, passing type of question which is analysis type. then in Saunders most of their questions are analysis type so you will be trained to answer analysis type. And you want the computer to stay in analysis type of question, which means you are in a passing level. Also when you take a review you will have an idea, you dont need memorize too many data that are simply recall and recognition, because these are failing questions and you dont want that to appear in the computer. when you are in the exam, try to feel the questions, if you are sensing that the questions are not analysis type.. oh.. oh.. extra effort in answering because you are not in the right path hope this helps

my plan is eating a spaghetti meal, before the exam, high carbo diet, but in hongkong, difficult to find spaghetti meal, found it in jolibee fastfood but i already finished my exam . instead i ended up in a egg burger meal of mcdo plus hash brown. :uhoh21:

I think this type of question are passing question. they are analysis type. my exam stopped @ 75 in hongkong, also encountered question like that teaching and prioritization, herbal meds, transcultural nurcng, infection control, 3 select all that apply, 1 dobutamine computation. hope i pass.

just for fun ;) room 503 of Pearson at Grand millenium Plaza in HK Good Luck ladyrn. just pray, when i go to hongkong, i dont have any companion, i was alone, no one to talk to in my room at the hotel regarding the feeling of the exam. its kinda challenging, going to a place wherein you dont have relatives and its so hard to ask question because most people there are not fluent in speaking english. I relied only on my map. .

@ kizzykatlove first thing when you encounter prioritization think first the A= irway B= reathing C= irculation if there are no problems with ABC, then use the MASLOW. always eliminate pain, in NCLEX pain is just a psychosocial needs, and if you are choosing betweem psychosocial needs and physiological on answer choices, using the maslow, physiological needs first.

for remembering laboratory needed for heparin and coumadin he PAR in = PAR-tial tissue thromboplastin = aPTT so coumadin will be PT. before, i always interchange these lab values, so i devised a way to remember it. On my luck these helps me, on my examination day my first question is. A patient with DVT and is on Heparin therapy, asking for plan of care. One of the choices stated "To monitor for the prothrombin time" i already eliminated it as one of my answer choice using my devised technique. :) other choices , "To ambulate the patient" the other one " To assess for ecchymosis" the last one i forgot but it is implementation answer. Using the Assessment versus Implementation Strategy of Kaplan. I choose the answer assess for Ecchymosis

@ MSU_2bnurse07 This is the blooms Taxonomy i think the reason why Saunders helps a lot is that. majority of their question is at the level of Analysis and Application level. Unlike other review cd i encountered their question is at knowledge recall which will only bombard you with too many facts, which will only lead you to simply memorizing the fact which is not, nclex is all about

kaplan strategy is great, before you enter a battle you should know first your enemy. kaplan will teach you how question is being made in nclex. the blooms taxonomy is well worth of a study, it will guide you in your review that mere recognition and recall of facts is not needed.

i take my exam last june 25 at HK, mine stopped at 75, got 3 select all that apply and one Dobutamine computation... question i encountered include delegation, prioritization, herbal meds, transculutural nurcng.. hope i passed, waiting for 2 weeks for the result.. sigh!
