  1. Vektor, That was a really cool quest...are U sure ur not a test writter:lol2:! Yeah, I relaxed on the beached & reflected on the nsg school journey I just was on. I got back today & found out I passed!!! That just made my trip even more worth while. Oh & congrats to you as well :balloons::balloons::balloons::balloons::monkeydance::monkeydance::monkeydance:!!
  2. I agree with Vektor...just answer quests (esp med/surg) & pull all your nursing knowledge/understanding into the test & you will find that the questions are very similar to some that you have come across before. Good Luck to all that have taken the exam & awaiting results, as well as those waiting to test!!
  3. Hello All, I took my NCLEX-RN today in Augusta. I was so nervous but the proctors at the testing center made me feel relaxed. After the picture taking & the 10 index-finger prints & 75 questions lasting all of an hour, I'm like...what have I just done! All of my studying/lects/clinicals/labs/careplans/career is about to depend on 75 question in 40minutes...this can't be true:uhoh3: . Well from the postings in this forum & others 75 quest usually mean a good thing, but I feel the exam was not that difficult as I'm use to from my nursing school & the ERI that we took at the end of each semester. In fact, it was very similar to the ERI. It was almost a breath of fresh air type of exam (a thank God kinda experience). Hope the feeling matches my test result . Well I will be going to Tybee Island to relax & hopefully (God's Will) I will come back to some great news!! I'll keep you posted.
  4. Well thnx for the info Rollie, I got my ATT w/in 6 business days from GPC sending my app out. Very fast! I guess it must have gotten faster since you applied. I plan on taking the NCLEX in the next couple of weeks :pumpiron:.
  5. Hello Rollie, How long did it take for you to receive a response back from the GaBON after GPC sent your application for licensing?
  6. Yeah, I heard the same. And one of the campuses is literally 2miles from my house. Their med-surg sem is only in the spring, I think. I have looked into other options as well, just in case.
  7. So did I!!! My GPA only went down 6 hundreth (.06) of a pt, which wasn't so bad. At least I can still get Pell & HOPE & don't have to worry about any loans quite yet. And I'm also having thoughts about how hard it will be next sem. being that it's so short. Where are you thinking of transferring to? Isn't it a little too late to get into any of the programs for fall'06. Let me know. Congratulation:balloons: ...1down 3 to go.!!
  8. It's actually 39 students signed up for ck-off (not including the 2 extra). like I said we only lost around 10 out of 48. We still have a healthy size class & for the most part many of them left on their own. So Malarwen look again;) !
  9. Hello, Just had a question for you... How's Med-Surg at Gordon?
  10. No, the last I cked (from the ck-off board) it was 40 spots & of those 38 was taken. Ck again. I don't think so much that people are scared, it's just that some people are failing but just didn't drop by the drop date & decided to stick it out for a miracle to happen.
  11. The first semester hasn't been murder like everyone said it would be BUT, nonetheless it still is alot of reading/studying to do. We haven't really loss alot of students either this sem. 48 started & only like 10 (8 w/draw for personal reasons) are gone. We'll see how the end goes (ERI). I heard 4th sem students are on their way to the world of nsg. That's great!!! By the way how many exams do you guys have in the 4th sem
  12. In the nsg school I'm currently attending (2006), if you don't verify the insulin dose with someone else during ck-off, you will fail that ck-off. And my instructor that presented that skill stated that it is also required in the workplace. And during my clinical experience this was also a current practice by the staff. So Suzanne, I'm pretty sure you know what you're talking about.
  13. LaurieLu78, Thanks for the wonderful info. I have 2 of those Review & Rationale books (Fundamentals & Child health Nursing) they seem to be an easier read than Kozier. Oh, & you're right...the Med-Math book is great! I get the basic concept, well formulas, and it really breaks it down for the lay mathematician (myself ). But thanks for all the great advice & feel free to share anymore:thankya: .
  14. Hello BEANURSE, Yeah I've figured that part out about studying . At orientation we were givin' a reading assign. sheet for the first 2 wks of class & seen that it only had 1-3 & 7,8,12,22&23. I thought we were going to read thru the whole book? Can you give me any kind of heads-up or pointers. What campus do you attend? Oh, & with 2920 & 2924 we are to take both of them in the fall'06 since we are to take 1930 in the sum'06....I know it will be tuff in 10 wks alone so trying to take Psych with it I don't think I will do that:nono: . Yeah & I also, as you know, heard all the horror stories that are really inspiring me to really want to work hard despite the negativity. Everyone has a different frame of reference. What counts is how you dissect what others say & let it work with you instead of against you & that is what I plan to do. Congrats to you:balloons: ...you're part of an elite few.....I strive to get to that point.
  15. Yeah, I decided to take a shot at it myself despite the horror stories & due to the 100% passing rate on the NCLEX too. I'm still a little afraid of the whole unknown thing, but confident at any rate. I also found that the faculty (that I met at orientation) was really friendly & encouraging students to seek help when needed. They also stressed utilizing all the resources that are available. Are you on the Clarkston campus? Is this your first semester?
