Do nurses have a responsibility to keep their Facebook professional?
The stuff on te internet is there forever. There is no guarantee of safety, secrecy or being completely unknown. Technology is moving so fast that we are all going to get left at the gate. They found that Burger KIng where the guy thought they were annoymous posting about standing on the lettuce by tracing something embedded in the picture. They were BUSTED in an hour or less I think by hackers. The reality is you put it out there, it can come back to get you.

who is at fault?
I'd also suggest complaining to her core group of employers.

Does an obese nurse set a bad example?
This is likely going to turn into a free for all like it seems they all do with this topic. We are more than just nurses. We are humans. The minute we became nurses, we didn't stop being human with the innate frailities.

Vent. Should I feel bad about not picking up shifts?
You make your committment, so there's nothing more to obligate you. If you don't want to do it, than don't. Other's expectations are their luggage not yours.

New-Grad with 2 offers and need help choosing: Tele or ER
I would go with #2. The experience would give you a basis for life that is best obtained when you are younger and fres. I would ride that wave because it could be an exceptional experience.

really??? (sigh)
We are all HUMANS before we were nurses. I didn't see sainthood as a pre-req for being a nurse when I joined. When anyone can live their life free of any ethical or moral slip ups and is perfection in every aspect of their person and practice. I'll join the fan club.

What's up with veteran nurses hating on new grads?
In 30 years, I have never had an issue till this past 6 weeks. The new grad nurse is a smarty pants like someone I have never experienced. She is the first nurse I am worried could damage someone because she does as she wants despite otherwise.
