Hey does anyone know of a networking group that meets in the Hartford area? I would like to be able to get to know some other nurses in my area....any ideas?

Have you tried working with a pool? They have flexible hours so that you can still go to school for your RN, and you can make $$ because they usually pay more than hospitals. I don't know a lot of hospitals in my area that use LPNs either. I work for Maxim and I would recommend it to anyone. Give it a try!

I have found that Maxim is the agency that treats me the best. I have great schedulers and they make me feel like I am valued as an employee. That is something that I think is key in choosing an agency.

What office did you work for? Do they promise hours and not give them? or do they give you assignments that aren't really there?

I have a friend who works for Maxim Staffing and she says that they take care of her really well. Where in MA are you?

From my experience, it varies on whether or not you go through an agency. I joined the agency Maxim 2 years ago and actually make a significant amount more than i did when i was just working at the facility. I have benefits and the same amount of flexibility too.

A friend of mine works for Maxim and lives in CT (the Hartford area) ...you should call them because i know they have several offices around the country

if you work through an agency, you can get more money. A friend of mine works for Maxim Healthcare and makes $50 an hour

A friend of mine actually got a few job offers from some really great LTC facilities in that area through Maxim Healthcare....you should definitely check it out

actually, it varies....if you work through an agency your rate is usually higher. A RN gets paid anywhere from 32-50 an hour depending on the assignment :smilecoffeecup:

I actually have a friend who works for Maxim Healthcare and she loves it! They treat her really well there....she works in Hartford but I think they have several offices within the state. You should check it out
