Anyone here attend Daytona Beach Community College?
Thanks for the information! I will be doing the rest of the pre reqs in the spring semester. I am currently taking eng comp, gen psy, bas anat & phys, intro to health care, humanities. I signed up also for the pre reqs for LPN just in case of a waiting list for RN. But I will take the rest for RN in the spring and if needed summer. I am also a CNA. Do you think being a CNA will help to get accepted into the program and while in school. All I know is I cannot wait until I have the opportunity to get into the program. Best of luck to you also! I am hoping to get accepted in the fall of 07 or spring of 08! Regards

Nurses in CT
LCRN, Thanks for the relpy! I start nursing school shortly. My wife is also going to go to school for nursing LPN. I am trying to decide if I should do RN or LPN. She wants to do LPN. I am currently in sales and have been for 10 years, I hate it. I average 70-80 hours a week, do not get paid for overtime and make less than I would as a nurse. I am not going into it for the money, I was a CNA while in college a long time ago. I loved it and should of done nursing instead of business. 36 now and want to do something I love and make a difference. When my son became very sick and had to have a major operation at CT Childrens Hospital me and my wife were scared. After 14 days in the ICU he finally recovered. The nurses that took care of him were really awesome. They really cared about him. They made a lasting impression on me and my wife. So we are going to make a career change. My wife LPN school and me still deciding on LPN or RN. I'm 36 now and want to do something I will enjoy (helping people). Best Wishes

Nurses in CT
How much can LPN's & RN's make a year if they work all the overtime available? A Friend of mine told me that some LPN's working a lot of overtime can make close to 100k and RN's even more. Is this true? Regards

LPN's in Connecticut
Hello, I have a question about being a LPN in CT. I am a male getting ready for LPN school. I am also a CNA. After school I want to move back to CT were I grew up. I want to work in LTC. What are the starting pay rates for LPN's in CT in LTC? How much overtime can you work? I want to be able to work at least 60 hours a week or more if possible. Can you get a lot of OT in LTC, in CT if you want it? My wife is also going to LPN school and we both want to work in LTC when we graduate. Are LTC homes hiring in the northeatern part of CT (Hartford, Manchester, Windam, etc)? Is there any LPN to RN bridge programs in CT? If anyone could provide in information or advise I would be very grateful? Regards,
