  1. well im a confirmed 3-11 shift person i hate working any other shift, I am not a morning person, I will usually go to bed at about three or four in the am ...after coming home from work at 11....cleaning ...cooking for the family and checking email/doing business stuff on the puter....then up around tenish...run morning errands....come home fix llunch prepare for work
  2. I havent gotten to the point where i tell my co-workers im going to go pretend to be a smoker now..and i will step off the floor... usually outsde and just breath the freah air for about five minutes....i do this about twice a night...especially if we are running wild...i need my sanity just as much as the rest of them...
  3. I do, always have even if it was peaceful....its only natural...we put so much of ourselves into these people even though we do not know them..every time one dies we lose that little peice our life that went into them...and we mourn for the unique individual that was lost to us...
  4. I come in when I am scheduled...I will not subject my pt's to my communicable illnesses...I do this because I DO care...I come in OT if I want to or need the money....if i burn myself out i will not be able to care for my patients effectively....my facility is short ...they always will be short because they treat their staff like uneducated children, instead of capable skilled adults who are not only quite proficient at taking care of them selves but others as well...so of course they will attract uneducated unskilled workers who have no work ethics to speak of even when they decide to come in....
  5. 14 yikes!

  10. This came from a rehab pt in his eighties. When someone hands you a peice of sandpaper in Afghanistan, What is it? A: A map.
  11. mario mario where where you the other day... former boxer pt of ours decked a day aide knocked her halfway across the room and unconscious.. inches lower and she would have had a heart attack... nothing was done oh not to mention the man who fills the hallways with assorted curses whenever nurses or aides cannot get to him within a min of his call ligth being put on...he has hit two people so far... and the sweet little old lady who steals the MARS bites kicks and punches us.... if this is a rehab unit...give me my dementia wing back!!
