well, i graduated in may of 08 passed nclex in july of '08 and i am having problems on my floor. i work on a ortho-neuro floor that also serves as medical overflow. i just don't think this floor is for me and i constantly doubt my skill set. i got about 6 weeks of orientation, but my floor is very clicky and if you aren't part of the clique you get the most work without any help. in addition, we have charge nurses who aren't helpful and we get yelled at for everything. so i guess the short of it is i am not doing well. but thanks for asking and i am looking to transfer to another floor. janine :)

I guess I am having a multitude of issues. I graduated in May with my RN and got my license in July. I am working on a Med/Surg (Ortho-Neuro) floor @ nights but I am having some serious problems. First, my department is very clicky and I am not dealing with that well. As well as I have confidence issues and need some advice on how to improve on that. Also, I just had a pt. refuse my care, causing me to doubt basically all of this, so I need some guidance. Thanks :)

I was born with cataracts, I have no lenses in either eye since I had cataract surgery in the early 80's, pre them putting in artificial lenses. I have 20/400 vision in the Left Eye and 20/25 vision in the right eye with contact lenses. I just graduated Nursing school in May of '08 and I do everything every other RN does on the floor. I just graduated from the GCCC RN program and there is a fall and spring class. You need to have a & p 1 done before applying to the program. There are 50 slots for the fall and spring semesters. For LPN programs there is Haney in PC and GCCC's program in Franklin county. Hope that helps, Janine :)

i'm a nursing student who was born with cataracts as i result i only have vision out of my right eye and only wear a contact lens in that eye. i can't drive but i can tell you that i do every nursing skill i am asked to do. i have to overcompensate but it is possible. i hang iv's next semester i will start iv's. i have done both sub-q and im injections. it all just takes time, practice and figuring out what is the best way to do the skill for you. hugs and i hope that helped. janine :)

Hi, I transferred from Molloy to another college but I can tell you Molloy really isn't happy when you try and go for your LPN Certification. If I remember right you can try after taking Adult 1 but I'm not sure. I would totally clear it with the Chairperson of the department before you even schedule the test. Good luck :)
