  1. Thanks Suzanne just wondering whether it was going to change, do you know how long it is taking to get to the us now?
  2. Hi Suzanne, could you tell me how the visa appliocation is going? are people still waiting a long time for the visa's to come through? I know there is probably a forum about this but I can't find it Thanks for your time x
  3. Hi staff nurse penny, I am currently in university and I know my course does not give me the required hours as the paed hospitals won't let us in they said they have enough of 'their own' to contend with. I called adevia health who advised me that whilst I'm still in uni that I could ask for placements which mainly deal with these patients. I have done my maternity theory and practice, I ma just about to do my community placement and uni have neen good enough to place me with a health visitor so my peads will be covered and then the next medical placement I have I will have to cross my fingers and hope there is someone that fits the psych criteria. adevia said to devise a table and whilst on placement ask the mentor to sign when you have completed the hours needed, but then it has to ge back to uni for them to put it on headed paper and attach to my transcript. I know you have qualified now so it might be worth calling this agency and seeing if you have enough already. Have to got your transcript with a breakdown of hours on????? Ang x
  4. Thanks for your advice, I ahve got my extra hours in naternity, community, medical and surgical, about to do health visiting for my child hours and psych should be a breeze cos everyone in Liverpool are nuts!!!!!!!! Thanks again ang x

  7. Thanks insa, I thought as much, I know he would do well in florida, but he doesn't want to teach, however, I know that if he doesn't teach he will struggle to do something that rewards him. as for demanding parents, he works in a private fee paying school so he is used to that:roll any other info would be much appreciated Thanks ang x

  11. I watch 'wanted down under' and I am set on going to the us (florida) but this programme did make me think. I mentioned it to dh but he is not impressed it's us all the way. He is a teacher here in Liverpool and he again doesn't want to teach when he gets to florida, but reading your post's he couldn't do anything else!! Does anyone know if teaching pays well in the us? Ang x:monkeydance:
  12. Thanks Meghan, in the meantime whilst I have been awaiting a reply, I have been looking at some other sites regarding nclex and I understand it now.:roll I am a British nurse so it doesn't come as part of my nursing degree programme, here in England we study for our degree and our registration RGN. We son't have to sit any other exams we get our reg number and then we can practice, so all this is a bit of a shock. I have been looking at some example questions and they don't seem too difficult, it's just having the time to think logically about the answer. I ahve just purchased some books, kaplan and saunders and some flash cards and a nclex pharmacology book. I hope these will help me pass. I have a while yet but I thought it would probably help me in my practice here in England too. Thanks for your reply please keep in touch I have lots of questions about America it's untrue!! Ang x
  13. i don't understand why some people get 75 and some get 265!! how does it work? is it just the look of the day? or do you know how many you will get? is this fair? sorry i may sound stupid but i will be doing my nclex to go to florida in 2008 so i would like to know what is in store for me thanks ang x
