...Then you let it go. That's how you take care of yourself...
Its a great quote and normal! My mom reminds me every week that i can't save everyone but to do the best i can when i am caring for someone and its helped me out a lot the past year!

students who break the rules
I see how it is hard to ignore, i had the same problem. A lot of girls i went to school with broke rules and a few hospitals that the school had a contracts with for years to do clinical with dropped them. We had to push our graduation back and maked up a few weeks of clinicals b/c we lost sites and our school did nothing. You just have to keep positive and try your best to not let others actions bring you down as well.

i`m desperate in getting any help that i can get.........
I am sorry you failed but i remeber the same situation so clearly for me last year, i took 205 questions the first time as well and I too failed. I thought i could i have failed i went through all my books, review book and even went back for review with a teacher at my school. When i told her i didn't pass she recomment i go and get flash cards for the nclex i got the mosby nclex lpn review b/c i used mosby all through school. She told me to not go over what i know but to focus on my struggle areas. Take the test in the books i have and see where my weakness is. I also invest in Kaplan review book for lpn 2208 and that was amazing for me i took the test in that first to and then i went back and read the rationales. I practically missed over half the questions on that test not sure why. However when i went back and read the first few chapters about to really think about the nclex questions i realized i was approaching my questions all wrong and after i studied the chapter it changed my scores on in review books drastically. I worked on my problems areas this time instead of trying to review everything in months. I took the sheet of where i fell on the nclex in different areas and reviewed my problem areas. I went back and retest on Dec 19th (taking 205 questions again) and found out this past Saturday i passed. My biggest problem was i was taking on the wrong approach to the nclex questions and not focusing on my problem points

I'm thinking of giving up on the lpn license
I thought of you today simon b/c i failed my test the first time, i never came back and posted that here but i did and i was crushing for me, but i went back and i took techniques from here and sites from here and mixed them with my own books and study habits and went back and retook my test on the dec 19th of last year and i found out today that i passed. I told my dad though if i did not pass i was going to give up but i realized that this is something i crave..I want to be a nurse and i want to help ppl so if i didn't pass then obviously i need to do more studying and that would only make me a stronger nurse. I have a friend from school who is mexican and she's taken the boards 3 times and failed and it all b/c she having some problems translating some of the words to english me and a few other girls helped her in nursing school so that how she passed and now we are getting to gether to help her again so she can hopefully pass and she is going to go take it again she said she would keep taking it until she passed. I hope to hear soon how things are with you and hope to hear of some great new soon :)

So Scared
I took it for the state of California so it does take 4to 6 weeks but i am coming up on week 6 so i was wondering what happened to my results. I do wishyou luch as well...and no worries when she said enforcement this morning i was like oh god!

So Scared
So i called the boards again to check and see if they mailed out my results b/c i am coming to the end of my 5 weeks and the lady got flustered and asked from my social so i gave it to her and then she said " hmm for some reason your results are in the enforcement department i'll transfer you" Well no one picked up and i left a message and the nice lady just called me back saying that she sent them out yesterday so in the next few days they should be here but now i am scared this is the second time i've taken the test and i've never heard of the enforcement department, heck it doesn't even sound like a friendly place. so now besides being :angryfire i feel

Did Kaplan help with critical thinking?
I don't know if you are taking the PN or the RN but i got the NCLEXPN Kaplan book after failing my test the first time and after reading the stratagies i realized why i failed. It brought a new understanding to my test and made me think of questions in ways i never thought. I was going for the basics of the questions but after reading that it was easier for me to answer questions in different review books not just the kaplan.

I'm thinking of giving up on the lpn license
Don't give up, i took the nclex and i have yet to know if i've passed. In the begining i told my dad if i fail this i don't know if i am caple of passing it, but after thinking back on that day i had A LOT of anxiety and i knew A LOT of those questions. So i am DETERMINED not to give up and to pass. There was a lot my school didn't teach us..A Lot... i did a 14 month vocational nurse program instead of waiting on the 2 year waiting list....but one thing my clinical instructors told me is go back to basic on this test sometimes you will realize it makes it a lil easier ^_^ Please don't give up, you won't just be giving up on you license but all the time, effort, and work you put in. YOU WILL GET!

I just took the NCLEX - PN, my thoughts.
:lol2:OMG you don't know how much confidence you gave me even some lady at work told me i failed taking 205 questions, Thank you. how long did it take you to get results with Ca if you don't mind me asking

I just took the NCLEX - PN, my thoughts.
oh and also i took the max amount of questions and all through nursing school everyone said if you took the max of 205 you failed your exam. So yes i've been trying to keep postitive thoughts on that i passed but after taking 205 questions i was just unsure. I pray taking 205 doesn't mean i failed

I just took the NCLEX - PN, my thoughts.
I completely understand about those books, i took my test this past monday and studied hard and i was a good student in school, but i left there SO UNSURE if i passed. I felt like i wasted time on those books and a lot of the stuff was stuff i dealt with in clinical settings. I would have been ok with just the books i got from school. Then i had access to the ERI testing site and i passed those no problem and the questions still came from things i didn't learn from school i used critical thinking and remember a lot of what i did in clinical....I hope i passed and from the looks of it ppl are about 5 to 6 weeks to get anything in the mail. This has already been the longest week of my life it feels like it's been 3 weeks! I want results!

I just took the NCLEX - PN, my thoughts.
I am a student nurse getting ready to take boards soon and i had the luck of taking the ERI ( ERI is a course for LVN/LPNs to take and you are garunteed to passed or money back.)course for free, and so far according to their numbers ppl don't fail after taking their course. However what i've learned the last year is to use my critical thinking, period. We are forced to take these ERI (my school makes it mandatory b/c their passing rate sucked until their student's starting taking them) they are part of our grade and the test us on stuff we have not learn or will not learn in school and i've done quite well with just critically thinking and not stressing. So i do thank the ERI ppl b/c they helped me critically think about the problem beside of reverting to i did not learn that in school. Also, maybe it's our school but they drilled cultrual differences into our heads when it comes to care. Oh and before our school started this ERI thing there only 5 or 6 ppl out of a class of 30 were passing their boards and that was after multiple tries . They just made the ERI mandatory with this last graduating class and the 15 students who took their boards within the first month all passed and they all thank ERI.
