first semester nursing schedule-ivy tech
I think there are various possibilities of what your schedule can look like. I know 2 people who started in Aug @ the Columbus Campus....For the 1st 5 weeks, one went 5 days a week, at least 4 hours most of the days; however, the other person only went 3 or 4 days...They have some 'morning' schedules & some 'afternoon' schedules...Starting Week 6 of the semester, your schedule will be something different because clinicals will begin... From my understanding, the schedules will be handed out at the 1st Orientation... All the "unknowns" are driving me crazy too!

Ivy Tech LPN Program Fall 2010 Deadlines?
I believe you will be fine since the Summer semester is between your classes ending and the Fall start....However, I'm not sure if you will have to submit your grade to the Nursing Dept or if they will automatically pull it after the spring semester is over.

Ivy Tech 'Fall 2010' Applicants
I remember them talking about this at the Info session...If there is a tie, they will take the other classes into consideration. If it is still a tie after that, they will take the TEAS score... I took the ATI practice test online too...My score on the 'real' test was much better than the online practice. (hope that makes you feel a little better :loveya:)

APHY 101 or 102 - Online -Feedback Needed
csab~ I would have 188 points....The extra 10 to 20 points would be soooo much better! I am going to take the TEAS for the 3rd time...Hopefully I can bring that up a little too...We'll see.

CHEM-101-Online-Summer-09 Study Group
I haven't received anything back on Lab 1 yet. For the decimals on the 1st quiz...However many decimals were in the problem, I used that in my answer. If the problem had one or two #s after the decimal point, that's how I entered it. In cases there wasn't a decimal in the problem, I used my best judgment & referred to practice problems. If you haven't taken the quiz yet, Good Luck! It wasn't as bad as I was anticipating...I think Lab 2 was so much harder!

CHEM-101-Online-Summer-09 Study Group
Our 1st lab is posted @ Late Nite Labs. Do any of you know how many times we can do each lab? Do we get 1 chance & then have to submit our report? I'm a little nervous about clicking on the lab & starting it.

CHEM-101-Online-Summer-09 Study Group
I looked those pages over...They look horrible!! I completed the 1st 1/2 of our assignment for Week 1 last night. I feel okay about it so far... There are 2 Practice Problems that have me stumped (I think they're the last 2?). I'm starting to think the textbook has the wrong answers in it, but I don't know... I'll keep working on them & will post something if I can't get them. I hope everyone else is feeling okay so far too!

What kind of nurse do you want to be?
I think heartbreaking is okay...That shows you care!! As a parent that has been having different tests ran on my child, I would love to have you as a nurse! We have dealt with some people that I believe could care less. I agree with another post...We shouldn't rule anything out. Good luck to you in whatever area you choose!!

Need some help deciding what classes to take and when for the ASN program at Ivy Tech
They do post every position on the website, which is nice. I believe if you take CNA classes it will help you in the future if you do apply for a position at the hospital. As you can imagine, the patient-care experience is highly desired! Have you had a chance to contact Ivy Tech?

Okay...I'll keep you in mind....I'd say the best thing is to keep an eye on the job postings on the CRH website. They really aren't doing a whole lot of hiring right now..I believe most positions are for people with degrees or certificates in various fields.

I really believe your feelings are more than normal!! I understand about the social life! I have not had one in sooooo long, but it isn't really because of school. I work 3rd shift, so I pretty much will chose sleep or study over fun any day. You are doing the right thing by asking questions! I believe the more research you do & the more questions you ask the people who are going through it, the better decision you'll make! (I know I've probably been driving people crazy asking questions about online chemistry & microbiology....) I do live in the Columbus area....I'll send you a Private Message to give you a little more info! :-)

Need some help deciding what classes to take and when for the ASN program at Ivy Tech
ha! I am definitely not one of those book smart nerds...I only dream of being one! I think doubting yourself is normal. At least I hope it's normal... It seems like I go through that every few months or so! lol The compass test is something everyone has to take to enroll at Ivy Tech....I have never heard of it preventing anyone from getting in, you would maybe have to take some brush-up courses before you take any courses that are for college credit... As far as the Saturday classes, I only go on Saturday from 8am to 11:50a (sometimes we get done earlier & can leave if we want or we can stay & study or work on our assignments)...Of course we have homework and we do have some assignments we have to submit online, but the class does not require any other time on campus. Have you checked out the Ivy Tech website? They are starting to get the Summer & Fall courses posted. You can pick what days/times would work for you or you can view all days/times.... Go to www.ivytech.edu/columbus (the home page has the links for you).... Looking at the site may help you "plan" things out a little more. I really believe if you go & talk to someone in Admissions & take the Compass test, you will get so many things answered. I remember feeling like you & once I took the Compass test & enrolled in my first class, I finally felt at peace. Another poster talked about Financial Aid....This is one thing I don't know anything about since I have mainly been taking 1 class per semester....I have also been fortunate enough to get a job that pays my schooling. Sorry I can't offer any advice in the finance part of it...I know it was hard to budget the classes & books before I started my job. I am excited for you!
