pros and cons
I emailed ST Peters in Olympia and they say that they hire CNA's from time to time and the pay is decent 11.90-16.15/hour That should help me to raise money to get in LPN classes faster.

Multiple Sclerosis Question
Wow amylc..Daytonite gave you some good advice. I should take these down as notes for when I start cna classes because that would give me well over 10 minutes of presenting

pros and cons
NO I don't plan on dropping out I'm doing fine in High School I'm just going over my future plans. I plan on making money (CNA) then moving out when I'm out of high school (graduated) Maby now my plans is mostly saving up money so I can don't have to do any student loans. Working full time and living at home for a while maby 6 months to a year so I can have a lot of money saved up and then pursue my LPN or maby just maby a RN. Planning on doing all this at my Local Community college since the closest college is more of a engineer school with nothing to do with nursing.

pros and cons
Ok thanks :) I don't have any hands on experience, but I do live in a adult homecare for almost all my life and know what that's like. If I need to I'll sign up for the 2 quarter class for advanced cna. My brother (now pursuing RN) got a job at mother joseph's real easy just by simply getting his CNA so I'll check there when the time comes.

How hard is it?
Ok cool thanks I'll think about it. You can do you CNA before your 18? Sweet

How hard is it?
Thanks :) I have a little less than 2 years to decide so I'll see :) I am for sure going to do my CNA class, shouldn't be too hard, I live in a house with a Adult homecare wtih 2 in wheelchairs, 2 normals with problems. So working in a place like Mother Josephs shouldn't be to hard plus I am a fully capable and strong if there need be any lifting. (Planning on living at my mother's while working as a CNA so I can pay off my pre req classes and LPN easily should be around 3,000 total around I haven't really added. Do you think you can point me out to books that teach alot about what a person would be learning as a LPN student I want to learn as much as I can so I won't be lost when I am taking LPN classes Planning to learn all my nursing stuff here http://www.spscc.ctc.edu/academics/programs/nursing/index.html Brother is at Wasu with his wife (taking classes to be a librarian) and my brother is taking RN classes and he is my role model, we gave him anatomy books and flash cards for fun :)

How hard is it?
I am currently a Sophomore in High School and I was thinking after I graduated taking the 8 week course (CNA) I think it is and maby if needed taking the 2 quarter advanced course at SPSCC and getting a job maby in a hospital or Providence Mother Joseph care center to get hands on experience. Is it worth it to take a LPN course? I was hoping maby 10-11 ( If CNAs even make that much) an hour would be sufficient and be liveable in a 1 room apartment with money left over. And how hard is it? From a 1-10 what would you think? If I tried to go for it I would just be scared about how hard it would be and would it be worth it?

pros and cons
What would you guys say is decent pay for a CNA? I live in lacey,wa and I don't really know how much pay would be nice to live off of. I mean I'm a sophomore in high school and thinking of taking CNA classes and hoping I can at least make a decent living off it. A 1 room apartment (600-700) and a 2k-3k car to get me to point A and B and have money for food and saving. How much hours do CNAs work? Because if I can at least get a 10-12 dollars/hour job and I can work 10 hours a day for maby 25 days out of the month ...lemme see the math here Living Apartment -650.00/month Car Insurance- Guessing 60.00/month Food 300/month just a guess That would give me 1490.00 left over a month if I worked 10 hours , 25 days out of the month. Is that sufficient you think? What else am I missing?

Hey CNAs..pay
Hey guys I am currenctly a Sophomore in High School and got an interest in Nursing. I was thinking about holding off a LPN until I could see how much pay I could get just being a CNA and working and a homecare type place like Mother Joseph's. Anyone know how much they get paid on an average? Enough to have a decent 600-700 dollar a month apartment?
