Thanks for the replies. It does help. I live in Michigan, and I am considering taking a CNA class but I just don't know if we can afford to pay the $500 to get certified if the pay isn't going to make it worth it. Thank you for your comments. I really appreciate them.

Thank you for your response. When you say the pay is really bad.. do you mean it is bad compared to what nurses get paid or that it is terrible comparing it to any minimum wage job? Just curious.

A few questions... What would you say are the pros and cons of being a CNA? Would you say it is worth it? Are you a CNA to begin your career as a nurse or are you planning on making a career of being a CNA? Thanks for your input. :)

Hey I am new here and I just have a question. I am considering becoming a CNA. Currently the only education I have is a high school diploma and I work as a cashier part time and a nanny part time. I have been a home health aide before, and enjoyed the work. CNA appeals to me because of how quickly you can become certified. I was wondering what the average pay for a cna is, as well as what the benefits are like. Also, how likely would it be for me to be hired shortly after becoming certified? I have a general idea of what I would be getting into, but any and all advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
