  1. Suzanne, now you see that overnight miracles still happen. Retrofression is OVER, even is for two months still it will help most of us!!!! Good luck to all. Wow, what is a news!!!:balloons: :balloons: :balloons:
  2. Susanne, If Visa Bulletin for EB3 moves as it did for the last two months, then EB3 may become current before November. So there is another chance before CIR is passed. Lets all pray for EB3 become current.
  3. I put my name on top of the front of the photo. I had some space on top of my head. It is not really readable, but when i got my VS i saw few letters of the name on the photo that was placed on the VS. There is supposed to be a little light space on top of your head. Put it there.
  4. starbin, did yo get your new EAD? If no, do you keep working? Please update
  5. After they do their training on J1 visa and pass Board, then can they apply for GC based on EB2? Is that right? Just wonder as my sister-in law is a pediatrician overseas. I wonder where can i find an information for her pathways to the US.
  6. Suzanne, does it mean MD with Master's can apply for GC? I wonder why they go through H1B if they can apply for GC.
  7. I would recommend you to try FL state. PA is a very concervative state even for american citizens. Some facilities in NJ are well educated about hiring foreign nurses. Also there is a lot of hospitals in CA that would not mind to hire you for as long as your OPT is effective.
  8. I personally know a nurse who has applied for AOS in August and got her GC in October. Her husband is affected by retrogression though.
  9. Well, I am going for two weeks. I dont know for how long one can be gone. But if your employer sponsors you green card and you get EAD, I dont think you can earn longer vacation within the first year. I can only take 2 weeks vacation. I dont have any specific reason. Just want to see my family.
  10. Well, my ticket is booked. I depart in May. So I'll let you know. I am not too concerned. If they dont want me here, cool, Ill make my life at home. Good luck
  11. Let me ask you a question. You said two copies, why? Do they take one when you arrive to the US. How many entries youa re allowed to make on AP? Thank you!
  12. Well, at least we know that housing prices went up, but the salary stays almost the same. I make 19.00 in Central Florida as anRN. (a new grad) Barely make my life. Trying to get PRN job. Good luck!!!
  13. I work in a hospital but also want to do private duty nursing to be my second job. IS that possible. What do i have to do for that? Does anyone know?
  14. Hi there, Let's hope that Schedule A relief will come sooner than your OPT gets expired. That way you can file I-140 and I-485 within 60 days after June 30, 2007. Yes, you can submit your I-140 anytime even if the priority is 2004 at this time. You need to file your I-140 right away now and after your OPT gets expired, you will have to go for your Master's. If you cannot get for your MSN (based on what you said about not enough experience), you will need to go for any health related MSN, lets say Master's in Health Management (or something like that). Meantime of your Master's degree education you can apply for another OPT (part-time) while you are working on your Master's, you can work as RN part-time. I am sure that by the end of this year Schedule A will be current again, and you will be able to file I-485 and I-765 concurrently. That is my advice. I am sure Suzanne may disagree with what I am suggesting. But I am positive that it is one of the legal ways to stay legal. But if you wanna leave the country, you will have to expect to stay there for 2-3 years even if Schedule A is current again.
  15. So what is going to happen with those AOS's aplicants? My AOS is under the final decision. It has been reviewed and after all my additionally requested documents were sent, the process has been resumed... (the status says so). Where such people are in the line? Does anyone know?
  16. embarq replied to seiko's topic in Immigration Advice
There are many reason to be denied. Everything depends on the case: type of visa, documents etc. For AOS, visa screen is an important document as all others like US license, and proof of being legal in the country at the time of AOS submition. After deportation he must wait for 2 years before filing again (to my best judgement). No one is supposed to work illegally (under the table), but i doubt that INS is able to keep track on it. So I dont think that was the case.

Hi Rittu Was that request for I-140 petition? or I-485? If I-140, yes, they will proceed it, there is no line for I-140. As for I-485, what is your case status says exactly? Thank you for sharing.
  18. embarq replied to seiko's topic in Immigration Advice
Well, my I-485 was proceed before November 1. ANd my status says to call them after 60 days if no decision made. So I will still submitt an inquire. As far as visa is unavailable, why do they keep proceeding AOS? What if all documents are in place, If they proceed them that means they approve them as well. Anyway, no one knows what is going on there. So, just lets wait and see.

Thank you, Loved! I dont really know why, but I have a feeling that my GC is on the way :monkeydance:
  20. embarq replied to seiko's topic in Immigration Advice
You are right, I-140 wont be affected by retrogression. It will be approved (if all documents meet the criteria) regardless. But no one knows about I-485. Because I see here people say that even after Nov 1, their I-485s were reviewed. I wonder if anyone's I-485 was approved after Nov 1? If so, would you share??? My only hope is that there are still some residual visa available and those who are here already may get their I-485 approved. My case status says that if 60 days passed and i did not hear anything, i have to call them. So my 60 days will be on Jan 1. If i dont hear none, I will call them on jan 2. I can request an inquire over the phone and I will get a written response. And then I ll let you know what they answer. If it is gonna be affected by retrogression, they should say that thre is no visa number available. On the other hand, if visa number is no available , what is the point to proceed I-485? That is kinda confused. Anyway, keep your fingers crossed. We'll get there!

Your primary employer should be the one who was sponsoring your LPR. I was told that you can also have a part-time job somewhere else if you want to. I am not sure how solid is my information. But I would be confident to say that you may get yourself in trouble if you use your EAD for different full-time job.
  22. embarq replied to seiko's topic in Immigration Advice
Suzanne, i have asked you about I-131 before, and you said that as long as you have a proper document, you will be permitted to travel out of the country. Now you say that AP does not garantee entrance. With this answer of course no one wants to put their case in jepordize. But I think there should be reason to be denied to enter the country.

I just want to clarify one thing: 1. Did you receive your EAD card, your I-140 approval and your I-485 RFE at the same day - 11/20?????? If you do, that is really unusually unique case (at least I feel that way) As far as what happens after you submit your documents for I-485. No one knows. My documents the received on Nov 1. No approval yet. I believe until the next quota is released (if there is any), nothing will be done. But who knows. All we can do is hope and pray. Happy Thanksgiving everybody!!! :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons:

Suzanne, i agree with you concerning green card lottery and pending AOS. If your AOS is already filed, that means you are an adjustee. (which means you are not on any kind of visa). For example, I was on student visa but as soon as my AOS was filed , I am not on student visa anymore. II dont have to take classes (but i can if i want to), Submitting GC lottery means that you are trying to get GC by another way at the same time, which is unacceptable. You might get denied both. So I would not play that game, even tough it was my question, I think that would be the bad idea.

Sounds good to me Seiko. I was offered a job in Hershey Medical Center and they started from $21.90 then in a month they sent me a letter that they raise a new graduate salary to $22.90. And it is not just for me because they wanted to sponsor me, it is for all new graduates. So $21.28 sounds pretty fair.
