  1. MERCER univ. CRNA program

The interview is a mix of clinical and personal questions. Be able to explain in detail all the different medications you use on a daily basis. Remember that everything that comes out of your mouth, opens up more questions. Be able to describe the pa...
  2. Accepted, with second thoughts. HELP.

I would NOT turn down your position. I am in my senior year and last year during interviews, one person told me that they had turned down a position 2 years back and had interviewed 7 different times since then only to get turned down every time! You...
  3. Nursing school vs. CRNA

There is NO comparison between Nursing School and Anesthesia School. Anesthesia reqiures more work and studying in one week than your entire BSN Program. I am not joking! Once you start you will realize how much you do not know. It depends on which p...
  4. Samford University Anyone?

If you get in, you will know pretty quick. I was in the last day of the interviews for the class of 2009 and the director called me on my cell after the interview before I was even out of B'ham! If you do not hear something soon after the last day of...

Mercer has a good program. The best part of the program is the clinical experience. The MDAs and CRNAs are really good to the students. The Medical Center has 35 ORs which is the largest in the state. I am in the 3rd class. They are working on severa...

Nurselizk, You are soo right. Neuro will have a whole new perspective when she starts school! She has NO idea what she is about to get into. It is awesome, but you have to pay alot of dues! 7 days a week!
  7. I'm in... with one year experience

You will realize once you start anesthesia school that you do not know half what you thought you did. Anesthesia school is a totally different animal. I thought I knew alot when I started also. You WILL BE HUMBLED! I would suggest leaving your ego at...
  8. I'm in... with one year experience

Gump, You will do just fine! Do not let others discourage you. You will be taught what you need to know in school. You will not have to be retrained like some of these people with 5 years experience. That is why some of these people with so much expe...
  9. Mercer/MCCG

I am a current student at Mercer. I will be the male junior student SRNA at your interview. The interviews will be pretty laid back. Private email me for more details.

    They are not kidding!
  11. How's everyone's semester going?

SLEEP! This will be the hardest thing you ever do! It seems like you never have any time to rest. You will find out that getting into school is the easiest part of anesthesia school. It is well worth it though! Good Luck!
  12. Chances of getting in ? Barry and FIU

You should get into both with a good interview. I have a friend graduating from FIU now. He has always had nothing but good things to say about FIU. They have a great program, I interviewed there when I was applying also.
  13. Mercer/MCCG

Interviews are sheduled for the 2nd weekend in Jan. I start back on the 7th and the interviews will be that coming up weekend. I do not know when they will let you know if you go an interview or not.
  14. Mercer/MCCG

They are looking at the applications this Monday for Mercer. I have heard interviews may not be until January. I know it is a long wait. The waiting is the hardest part. The new director will be in Macon on Monday. We are very excited to have him.
  15. 1 year Acute Care to enter CRNA prog.

The program is in the South. We take our anatomy class and physiology in the medical school. We take the same courses as the medical students, but we have to make at least a B. The med students just have to pass with a 70! It is brutal. I got 431/467...

i agree with wes. i am in my 1st semester. if you want to do it just for the money, i do not think you will make it thru a program to make the big $$$. you have to live , eat, and breathe anesthesia school. nothing else!! you will study 12-14 hours a...

I just started CRNA school. I do not see how anyone will be able to workduring school. My day consists of class, studying, eating, and sleeping. That is it! It takes alot of time studying for hese classes. The large amounts of material are overwhelmi...
  20. IV Starts

Once you see flash back, make sure to advance the needle some more into the vein. Then slide the catheter over the needle. Most people stop when they see flashback and try to advance it too early.
  21. Classes filled 2 years in advance?????

I believe they mean the class of 2009. The class starting this fall will be the graduating class of 2009. I may be wrong, but I think that is what they are talking about.
  22. Gonzaga---CRNA

Do not be afraid! You will never know if you do not try. The GPA is not everything. Your friend with the 3.5 may have bombed the interview. You need to get the intervew and do something in the interview to make yourself stand out amongst the other ca...
  23. 1099 CRNA's

I have a few questions about working as a 1099 CRNA. 1. How much does the personal insurance coverage run a year? 2. How much coverage do you need to have? 3. How bad are the taxes? 4. What do you like/dislike about working as a 1099 employee?
  24. ? regarding ICU experience before program...(m)

I was told by several program directors that they prefer the CVICU over other ICUs.
