MERCER univ. CRNA program
The interview is a mix of clinical and personal questions. Be able to explain in detail all the different medications you use on a daily basis. Remember that everything that comes out of your mouth, opens up more questions. Be able to describe the patients you take care of on a daily basis. Be confident, but not cocky. Good Luck! Maybe I will see you there!

Accepted, with second thoughts. HELP.
I would NOT turn down your position. I am in my senior year and last year during interviews, one person told me that they had turned down a position 2 years back and had interviewed 7 different times since then only to get turned down every time! You have NO guarantee you will ever be accepted again!

Nursing school vs. CRNA
There is NO comparison between Nursing School and Anesthesia School. Anesthesia reqiures more work and studying in one week than your entire BSN Program. I am not joking! Once you start you will realize how much you do not know. It depends on which program you attend as to how many papers you will do. The Masters of Science programs are geared more to the science classes and not as many papers. With Anesthesia School, you better be ready give up everything in your life but anesthesia, for 28 months. I love it and will never regret my decision. It is the BEST profession in the world!

Samford University Anyone?
If you get in, you will know pretty quick. I was in the last day of the interviews for the class of 2009 and the director called me on my cell after the interview before I was even out of B'ham! If you do not hear something soon after the last day of the interviews, it is NOT good! Good Luck! I did not have a single clinical question in 2006. Samford is a great program with a alot of nice people. I chose another program because of location and clinical site. It was really hard turning them down, but I made the right decision for me ad it has turned out well!

MERCER univ. CRNA program
Mercer has a good program. The best part of the program is the clinical experience. The MDAs and CRNAs are really good to the students. The Medical Center has 35 ORs which is the largest in the state. I am in the 3rd class. They are working on several outside rotations also. Some will be close to Atlanta. They usually interview about 40 students out of over 100 applications for 10-12 spots. It is an expensive program, but I think worth it.

I'm in... with one year experience
Nurselizk, You are soo right. Neuro will have a whole new perspective when she starts school! She has NO idea what she is about to get into. It is awesome, but you have to pay alot of dues! 7 days a week!

I'm in... with one year experience
You will realize once you start anesthesia school that you do not know half what you thought you did. Anesthesia school is a totally different animal. I thought I knew alot when I started also. You WILL BE HUMBLED! I would suggest leaving your ego at the door or you will have a very difficult time in school!

I'm in... with one year experience
Gump, You will do just fine! Do not let others discourage you. You will be taught what you need to know in school. You will not have to be retrained like some of these people with 5 years experience. That is why some of these people with so much experience get turned down for admission every year.

Mercer/MCCG
I am a current student at Mercer. I will be the male junior student SRNA at your interview. The interviews will be pretty laid back. Private email me for more details.
-
how's the program like??
They are not kidding!
-
How's everyone's semester going?
SLEEP! This will be the hardest thing you ever do! It seems like you never have any time to rest. You will find out that getting into school is the easiest part of anesthesia school. It is well worth it though! Good Luck!

Chances of getting in ? Barry and FIU
You should get into both with a good interview. I have a friend graduating from FIU now. He has always had nothing but good things to say about FIU. They have a great program, I interviewed there when I was applying also.

Mercer/MCCG
They are looking at the applications this Monday for Mercer. I have heard interviews may not be until January. I know it is a long wait. The waiting is the hardest part. The new director will be in Macon on Monday. We are very excited to have him.

1 year Acute Care to enter CRNA prog.
The program is in the South. We take our anatomy class and physiology in the medical school. We take the same courses as the medical students, but we have to make at least a B. The med students just have to pass with a 70! It is brutal. I got 431/467 for a 92.3% on the 1st anatomy test and a 93 on the 1st physiology test. I was pleased with my results. It is brutal They tell us it is our rite of passage to the OR class. They are wearing us out! It is all about survival.
