  1. As many times that i have pushed this stuff i've only seen bps drop maybe 10-15mmhg.....and i have never seen or heard of it being hung.
  2. I used alot of different resources, it didnt matter what, just alot of different ones, ive used kaplan, saunders, and mosby's flashcards. Kaplan's book will teach you how to analyze the question which is a very big help.
  3. I am a new nurse in RI, and i think there is alot of negative feedback on this site sometimes. Im sure some nurses can be quite mean, but theyre not all like that.....So far ive had nothing but good experiences, clinically and as a Nurse.
  4. Dont get discouraged. Do as many questions as you can to expose yourself to as much CONTENT as you can. Kaplan offers a book and CD : "strategies for the registered nursing license exam" this helped me in how to answer the questions and what theyre looking for, the biggest and most important is your content. I took the test the first time and passed, dont let people freak you out, i did right after i hit the 75th question (everyone i knew got about 75-90 questions and passed) so figured i was doing pretty crappy.....i got nervous so it took me 180 questions to get through it. The test itself is a crap shoot, you dont know what your gonna get so know as much as you can, even exposing yourself to what you dont know helps....cause at least you have already seen it and can make a very educated guess. GOOD LUCK !!!!:monkeydance:

  6. I agree with the ICU floater....The biggest defining factor was being able to know my patient.. bigger yet....advocating.
  7. I feel very lucky, i just got hired and this particular hospital offers PAID NCLEX review for 8 hrs a day x 4 days, which is the start of our 1st week of orientation to this facility.
  8. Some of you are TOO FUNNY!! Thanks for the laugh! graduating soon, and i'd agree its personalities not "nurses".
  9. Just recently heard, we have up to 2 hours before/after.....considering the shortage in some areas, this could be why......Med/Surg Floor with 6-8 patients..........Thats just nuts:uhoh3:
  10. $21 and change and hour here to start, shift differentials, weekend differentials and sign on bonuses along with it. "NorthEast Area"
  11. VERY WELL SAID!
  12. Critical Care where i've looked into is a six month internship.....three months? That's scary.
