What are some of the differences between an RN and LPN. What kind of responsibilities would an RN have that an LPN wouldn't have. Are the differences between the 2 the same in a hospital as opposed to a nursing home? Any info would be greatly appreciated. I'm not sure which one to try for. Thanks.

How important is it to know all about acidosis/alkalosis. I'm trying to understand it by reading 'Fluids & Electrolytes Made Incredibly Easy." I don't think it's incredibly easy though. I never see much about acidosis/alkalosis on the posts. What about ROME (respiratory opposite, metabolic equal), what are they equal and opposite of?

Just curious what the hospital atmosphere is for new nurses. I've read so much on these threads about nurses eating their young, most seem to agree w/ it. What are some of the most important things veteran nurses wish new students knew or did?
