  1. i took the lvn boards passed and am now waiting my results for my RN boards. Something that might help is if all of them have respiratory which one is gonna die if you don't see them. if you could only d0 one thing what would it be? If you could only raise the head of the bed or only call the doctor or only administer the medication which one would you choose knowing that if you didn't do the others the pt would still be alive.
  2. i took mine jan 10th and got 75 questions. Not on the board yet b/c the school I graduated from informed me they arent sending out transcrips until jan 31st. the board wont release your results until they have your transcripts. You should contact your school and see when they will or did send your transcripts
  3. I Passed!!!! Got The Results In 24 Days
  4. I Passed !!!! Got The Results In 24 Days
  5. felt the same way. I thought for sure i had failed although i heard from an instructor that priority questions are higher level questions.
  6. unfortunately CA doesn't participate in the quick results so it takes 2-4 weeks before you get your results in the mail. Also your license number won't show on the web site until you have gotten your passed letter and sent in your $100 to get your license. it's day 22 for me and still no news.
  7. thank you so much. You have made me feel slight relief. I took the NCLEX test here in CA and a friend took it 2 days after i did. She got her results after 16 days I am now at 20 days and still waiting.
  8. Well it has now been 20 days since i took my NCLEX-PN. Still no news. I am feeling worse and worse about my test. Ya think you fail if you got to ABC priority questions completely wrong? My friend took her test 2 days after I did and she got her results that she passed in 16 days. Does this mean I failed???!!! ok, ok I'll try to stop freaking out. Her last name does falls 4 letters higher in the alphabet than mine. OH i just wish the waiting was over.
  9. I jsut recently took the NCLEX-PN ( don't know results yet) NO amount of studying would have prepared me for that test. I had a later date b/c summer micro, i wanted to finish micro first but I moved the date up and Yeah no amount of studying could have prepared me for it. It seems like it's all critical thinking it doesn't flat out ask you facts.
  10. Nursing school is hard it takes alot of time. I have a 3 and 2 year old. The way I found time to study is let the house go. Really pick up what you have to but prioritize what "really" has to be done. Try putting a movie on for your youngster and tell em it's quite time, mommy has to study. You are not being a bad mom. You will and your family will have to make alot ALOT of sacrifices but they are worth it. It's not like you're doing this for yourself. If you're like most people you want a better life for them. They will get over it.
  11. yeah you get exposed to alot of things at clinicals but you do get used to it. Id rather change a colostomy than adult diaper clean up anydays. The only smell I couldn't get used to was the smell of a stage 3 or 4 decubitus or the smell when someone has it so bad that they are on a woundvac. mmmmmm rotting flesh. just look at things in a medical standpoint. don't think of it as wiping butt, think of it as maintaining skin integrity and the fact that cleaning that up prevented that person from being at a greater risk to tissue break down.
  12. was it hard to get into the NICU right after graduation? Did you have anything else going on that gave you more than other applicants?
  13. My son was born at 35 weeks and had to be intubated he was in the NICU for 17 long days. The first week we weren't even allowed to touch him. My niece was born at 35 weeks and was fine, her and her mom stayed in a couplet room for a week and that was it. I was so jealous. p.s. he a huge 2 year old now, rough tumbly, you would never know he was early.
  14. I'm waiting for my scores on my lVN NCLEX and am already in an RN program. I want to be a NICU nurse. Do you have any advise for me? Is it hard to get into that department? Anything that would make me stand out more than other applicants to the department?
  15. For narrowing betwenn 2 good answeres and instructor once told me. If the one you picked was the only thing you did, what would happen? Like for example here's an easy one. If a pt began experiencing a transfusion reaction you should a. stop the transfusion b. call the doc c. slow the transfusion So if you only called the doc what would happen? If you only stopped the transfusion what would happen?
